please help: Stock mazda rim badly cracked

I just saw this on Saturday on my front left wheel. The tire guy said that it's a manufacture defect. I took it to a wheel shop and they said that I have a case against Mazda from it. Everyone has told me so far that I'm lucky to not have crashed yet. All I want is a new wheel and they are charging me 1,000 for it. What do you guys think I should do??

See if you can find a used rim from a salvage yard. You will nowhere trying to get a dealer or any manufactures to pay anthing for a 5 year old rim problem.
