Hello,
I'm hoping someone may be able to help me. I was trying to install a new pioneer head unit (4400-bh) with the axxess steering wheel control adapter. I hooked everything up, but the axxess unit was not sensing the radio. Looking at the instructions, it said to connect pin 1P on the factory radio harness to ground. There was no wire in that pin location, so I inserted a wire and ran it to ground. I then turned the key, and the power to the radio was gone, as well as the display above the radio with the temperature, clock, etc. I took off the pioneer and put back the factory radio, and the cd changer has power (it makes noise when I plug it into the harness) but the radio has no power, and no display above the radio either. I checked all the fuses in the engine bay and they are all good. I checked all the fuses labeled radio in the glove box, and all are good. All other electrical systems seem to work fine.
I have no idea what I did and I am really hoping I didn't do permanent damage.
Any ideas would be Greatly appreciated.
Here is a link to the Axxess instructions showing where pin 1P is:

Thanks,
Rob

UPDATE: For anyone who is interested, it turns out I wired things in reverse and luckily only blew a fuse. I ended up pulling and checking every fuse in the engine compartment and the glove box to find it. The radio power and upper display are protected by the fuse in the glove box for the rear view mirror. Even though I have a non-powered rear view mirror, that's the fuse for the radio. I hope this info can help someone else.
