Hi:

My car was working fine, I drove it on Friday, On saturday I try starting it, it just wont start, I heer clicking noise and beyond that nothing. I checked if it was Battery but no, Battery is fine, Oil is fine. I had a similar problem couple of years ago, and the repair man said he cleaned the Solenoid. Where can I find the Solenoid on Mazda Protege 1993 Model. I dont have the Jack to lift it up, Can it be accessed from the Top. I opened the Distributor Cap, Spark Plugs etc all seem OK. I hoep to fix it myself to spare some cash on this old car. All help appreciated.

Thanks

well, I'd ask in the Protege section (not Protege5) for more specific info on your car.
sounds like a troubled starter to me...

If the clicking is coming from under the dash, it is a relay that is clicking because it does not have enough juice to start the car. The battery may still register 11-14 volts but not have enought juice to actually start the car. Take the battery to autozone and have them test it for free. They can load test it.

The clicking is coming under the dash. I checked the Battery by taking it out. Went to Walmart with a friend bought this Battery Charger Schumacher SpeedCharge, hooked up the battery then charged it, within a minute it said it was charged(There is a light that indicates this). SO , I thought that there is no problem with the Battery. The Nodes has grease covered all over them on which the lead wires get bolted on, Is this the cause of less power I thought grease was a conductor of electricity. Everything else works, Radio, Lights etc. The battery I have is a 12 V battery from TAG (Tire Authority Group ) or something like that.

Thanks
