2010 MS3
I have a 2010 speed3 with a catless downpipe. It has been tuned under the Cobb but since then it was switched over to ecutech to get rid of the codes but even though the codes have been deleted the engine will not cycle the evap so that I can get a new york state inspection. I have since put a new catalytic converter on the car but it is farther back on the exhaust and the second O2 sensor is far from reaching of it (41inches). The O2 sensor extenders I ordered from caspers electronics do not fit the pins. I heard if I cut and solder the wires on the O2 sensor I'm just going to throw a new code because the voltage will go down. I honestly don't know what to do anymore. My inspections been up for a year and I feel hopeless. Has anyone dealt with a similar issue or have any idea what to do...

Have you thought about buying a completely stock exhaust (used) to throw on for inspection?

How far back is the new cat? Even with extended wiring, it is probably too far back to get hot enough to work. How does your state inspect? Is it just checking codes, or is there an actual exhaust sniffer test?

You may need to move that cat up into the racepipe section of your system to get enough heat in it, or even get a catted downpipe. Sorry for your trouble, but I doubt that a cat that far downstream would work, if I'm understanding your setup.

In NY they used to put all cars on the dyno and test emissions under "real world" conditions. They now just plug into the OBDII port and look at your records. If you have no records they tell you to drive the car for two days and come back.
