Please Anyone in VA or around the state i need help... warranty may be gone!!

Well i took my car in for that mysterious noise i have when i turn the wheel rolling. They said that it soudns like its internal tranny problem or could the lsd or axles they havnt totally narrowed it down. But they said that its mazda corporate's decision on the warranty because of the boost controller and blow off valve, they also said that i had been racing because the front tires were half way worn out which is actually from the snow. I dont know what to do could anyone aroudn here help me if i need to get something fixed or know anything that could fix it for cheaper? I dont have the money for this right now. thanks alot

WHAT!

Why didn't you just take the boost controller and BOV off before going in for service?(scratch)

because the boost controller involved cutting and splicing wires.....it would have been noticable to put it back and the fact that what is wrong with the car to me has nothing to do with those parts.

O I C?I didn't realize that you had an electonic boost controller(yead kinda hard to take out but couldn't you hide it better? As for the BOV ....HMMMMM??Anywho,how many miles are on your car? This might be a good point to make if they are low.Hell, look at my car ,I lost a motor @ 3800mi. :wtf: Are these cars gonna be maintenance nightmares?I sure hope not!

Damn man how did you blow your motor too much boost or what? Well the only case i have is that i brought it in at 4700 miles and they saw i had nothing on the car so i think they shuold do the work on teh car just because they saw the problem before the performance parts. Thanks

I think we all know going in that if you put a boost controller or anything like that on your MSP that your warranty is gone....shouldn't be a surprise.....mine will stay BONE stock :)

Is it a clicking sound when you turn the wheel? This sounds like the CV axles are bad. If you were spinning wheels really fast in snow, you might have fried the CV's. Good luck with the warranty....like everyone else said, you might want to take it to another dealership AFTER removing all of your upgrades.

Well according to I think it is the Magnusson Moss Act the dealer or car company has to prove that the aftermarket parts caused the problem for them to deny warranty issues. I would go to another dealer If I were you. Also if the problem was reported before the modifications you should have a stronger case, but why would you mod if you were having problems. I am not flaming I am speaking from experience. 2 months ago my car was bone stock and was possibly goig back on lemon law. I battled with my dealer and corporate for over 3 months about the problem and once it was fixed and I had put 1000 miles on it and had no more problems I began to mod. Let them figure out exactly what is wrong with the car first and then worry about wether or not it is covered by warranty. But just rememeber that one or 2 parts like that are not going to void your entire warranty. engine mods don't affect suspension. as suspension mods don't affect engine. I hope this helps.

Take it to another Mazda dealer and see what they say. Then I would call Mazda Corp and tell them what is up (if the next dealer tries to hand you that line). Tell Mazda Corp what is going on and if they try to give you crap continue up the food chain till you get a big whig. Try to stay calm, but be firm! Be logical and throw in terms like "I don't want to have to take this to court!"
Throw in stuff about how warranty should cover parts that having nothing to do with modifications.....I can't think of the exact name of it, but there is a law out there that states such. Just be stern until you get what you want!

I put the boost controller on because the first time i took it in for the problem they told me nothing was wrong, just the tires were making noise when i made hard turns or something along those lines. They said it was just because its a modified car so i just said ok. I dont know enough about cars internally to disagree so i do think i have something against them here. Thanks its the moss-magnunson act of 1975

I don't quite know where Centreville, Va is, but I live in Fredericksburg, and our dealer is great. I have a friend who works for Bill Britt Mazda here, and they have always looked kindly towards the aftermarket industry...as long as it's not excessive or stupid. I agree with the CV joint theory; if you live close to Fredericksburg, come by and see what they say. Ask for David Powell, he's a great guy to deal with. Good luck!

WHAT!!!!! Centreville is just pass Manassas.

Yeah one of my friends just bought a townhouse in Centreville right off Rt. 29. Northern VA is way overpriced and the traffic sucks during commuting hours.

Definately! My in-laws live in Manassas. Buying a house there is rediculous! The traffic sucks! And I really wouldn't be making in more money if I lived there as opposed to right around Richmond. Plus, up there a house like mine would be almost triple the cost that it is here. (mainly due to the land space than the house itself!).

Yep he paid 180K for a townhouse that needed lots of work.....new carpet, paint, electrical fixtures, etc.

Its looking like im just going to get this fixed and sell the car. If I cant put aftermarket parts on the car such as these and get total crap from teh dealer i dont want it, my mustang was loaded with parts and never had warranty problems. Im going to get an older car and just go all out i think that way i dont have to worry about warranty just maintance. My dad and I are working on Mazda Corportate right now, im taking the boost controller and BOV off the car and keeping the warranty. So im going to try and sell the car pretty soon. Thank anyways guys.

That is really messed up that something like this happens and you want to get rid of the car now. Not un-called for at all.....please don't interpret it that way.
I will make mods to my car and if something goes wrong, NOT OF MY DOING, then they will pay! I don't care if it takes me a lifetime to make them pay, I most certainly will, just out of principal!
I am sorry they have ruined the experience for you! Just keep trying and hopefully they will come to their senses....
