bah! that sucks man...looks like the only smart option is to rebuild and enjoy it....
This makes me glad I owe less than 6 on mine...
This makes me glad I owe less than 6 on mine...
very very long story.
I bought this car Dec 18, 2003. I didn't necessarily need a new car, but my little brother went and did something really stupid. He owned a 2001 Integra GSR. He financed it over 6 years and then hit a school bus. Damage to the driver fender. Rather than trading it in, he went out and bought a nissan frontier. He thought he could sell his cool 2fast 2furious GSR privately. He didn't. My parents asked me to trade his car in, since it was about time I bought a "new" car. He owed 15k, it's "true" value was 6k.
My MSP's MSRP was 21k. There was a $2500.00 rebate. I got them down to 18k, then the 2500 rebate put me at 15.5. Add the 9k from my brother's car and I was at 24.5k. +Taxes tags, etc, it was a little over 26k, total. $1250 cash down and I financed $24,9XX over the five years. I was a first time "new" car buyer (another rediculous story) so they hit me for 12.99%. $563.00/mo. My brother was supposed to give me $150.00/month for 6 years to offset the $563.00. Yeah, haven't seen a dime yet. I had to refinance in Dec 05 to bring down the rediculous payment. $363.00/mo... it'll finally be mine in Dec '10.
Parents just told me yesterday that they hope I learned my lesson and won't be helping me w/ fixing it. Went by the dealership yesterday, there's no way to hide 11,700 (turns out the payoff is 1300 less than I thought) in any car. So, I'm screwed
Ironically, 9K @ 12.99 for 48 mos. (which is exactly how long I've had the car) is $11,587.20. Basically what my brother owes me. Although, in reality, it's my name, it's my debt and since he won't be paying me anytime soon, as he hasn't given me a penny since I bought the car, it's my problem.
So, here are the morals of this story:
A) lol, don't boost 12lbs for 90k miles in an "unmodded" MSP.
B) Never, ever, ever try to help your family out, financially.
C) Never, ever, ever believe that your family will help you out in the same fashion.
So, that is how I still have $11,700 left on this car.
Don't feel so bad. I blew the camshaft bearings on the 5 a couple months ago...traded it in for a 3...totaled that two weeks later and now I'm in a box (Xb).
i told you!
12 psi wihtout proper tunning were gonna bite you in the ass..
any time now my motor will say bye bye too
i'm getting closer and closer to 100k miles
but i want to be prepared for when that happens, so i'll buy bullets for my shotgun
