Plastic valve cover... cover painted

hey i painted this once... my first coat did not take nearly at all! WAY TO MUCH PAINT! i needed to do very thin coats which i did not! i used some paint thinner and it turned out in a very interesting way! take a look

some are in the engine bay, some are outside... they look kinda orange but it really is red

use some brake clean(non-chlorinated) to remove the paint,and try again,because that looks like ass.

lol it looks better in person... it is red... and most of the flat space that looks orange looks VERY black compaired to the pic...

i just accented the lettering on the valve cover. i used 500 degree DupliColor engine enamel...seems to be holding up great! maybe you should give that a try?

what grit of sandpaper do I have to use to get rid of previous paint?

Yeah, I have been thinking about doing a swap on my valve cover(plus the valve cover cover) with some other protege valve cover. I never have the plastic cover on there. But the studs on the metal part look weird without the plastic on top. I could swap with anyone local with a little cash to cover the bling difference.

you don't need sand paper to get rid of your F-up,do like I said,go buy some CRC-brake clean from your local cheap ass auto store.

it will remove it easier thatn anything else,just spray it on,wipe,rinse,repeat in any spots necessary

ok... this is NOT what i'm keeping this was just a WEIRD effect i got after taking most of the paint off... i only had a 1/2 hour to remove the paint so it ended up a little weird i am going to re-paint it. you guys can see it when i looks better... oh and

very funny guy ya... i feel like i pht the sht outa that thing... it is reversible for what i was trying to do (paint it red) so it will be fine to re-use this one

ok well i went and bought dupli-color engine paint... goooo it looks good but i still have to tape off the surrounding area of DOHC 16 VALVE and paint that Silver it looks MUCH BETTER
