Pix of DVD System!!

How's the quailty? Been looking for some inexpensive in-dash players. And they have a 5.6 flip up that is pretty inexpensive. :)

Looks good man

Man, how do you guy afford all that crap? Any way I price it out, it's going to cost me upwards of $1500 to get a decent DVD system in the car with rear screens.

I'd like to see some breakdowns of what components everyone has and the prices. :)

:wtf: Naw, you can do it for much cheaper. Just go on Ubid.com. That's where I got my screens from. Mobile Tv, 5.6 in Headrest monitors for $105 a piece. I got my DVD player from Fry's. I installed the system myself.

Hm, thanks for the leads. :)

I have a DVD player already. I took an old 486 laptop, put a refurbished DVD-ROM in place of the swappable CD-ROM, installed Linux, and mounted it under my passenger seat.

486 laptop = $0
DVD-ROM = $30
Linux = $0

Beat that deal. :)

Knew a friend back in Cisco class that installed a PC in his MX6. Pretty nice setup, think the total setup was around 1300 which included subs etc. Got most via ebay bids and other finds.
His car was broken into by the repair place he took it to, went to court and got over 11k for the system. :D

I've heard tons of stories of that happening to people. I mean, you go in, they check out your entire system for a day while they're working on your car, they know what kind of bolts you used, where the equipment is installed, etc...they get your address and phone number when you pay the bill...then they stop by your house one night and steal your car or your system!!

Who do you trust these days?

Yep, expect it was broken into on their lot. Plus there was no breakage on the window seal etc. So they had to have had the key or it was unlock the whole time. Also it took almost 2 weeks after it happen to notify the police and owner. Least he took them to the cleaner on that one.

GLOCK, the maker of fine firearms!
Where one in when you deal wiht the shop and they think twice about jackin your system :D.

hehe I I perfer the H&Ks side arms much better. Wasn't at all impressive with the Glocks or Berreta. H&K was very nice, plus the extra safety feature means it can always be ready to fire without going off in your pants :) No need to flick it to fire :D

Now one gun I got to fire with my dad

:D :D :D

Just take the mechanic outside and take that out of your trunk while they watch. I doubt they will be backto steal anything.

hehe plus we have full body armor and kevlar for when he goes on range. Show up wearing those and pull that out of the trunk and the people may never come back at all!! lol:D

The 486 laptop does have some kind of graphics card, it's just not a very good one by today's standards. If I tried watching DVDs on the laptop display, it would probably look crappy and pixellated, but I will be watching them on the screens I eventually get for my P5.

Just so nobody tries, I took an old 486DX laptop and tried to get it to play MP3s....doesn't work. Win 95 takes too many cpu cycles for any version of winamp to run. Even with a 30 second buffer, the output catches up to the decoding.

Anyway...just thought of a funny quote...

"You know what a hatchet is?

I like to keep one in my trunk. Its good to know I have it when say, someone is about to drive a loved one home?

Oh, I don't use it to kill, heh noh noh. Maybe shave a little flesh off the ole elboe, maybe the knee cap.

Why! I've been known to circumsize a knat! Wait a minute; bug, knat. Is there a little...similarity there?

I don't think you understand, I'll be right back.

. . .here it is! c'mon over, I wanna show it to you. . .ok. . .maybe later."

Ahh yes, one of my favorite movies.

hey thanks everyone! the whole set up cost me $1500 installed ,panasonic deck,xo vision two 7" screens, xo dvd player,xo video amp, and sound storm 6x8 and 61/2.. the deck blocks my cup holder a little, later on plan on getting a better quality dvd player and optima battery.

MAHALOS!
