Pipes on today!!

Hey Everyone, went to my installer's garage today and FINALLY got my charge pipes, and CAI style intake put on, as well as my HKS BOV. The charge pipes look and fit great. The intake pipe puts the filter under the bumper, and looks awesome.

The BOV sounds good, and the car idles perfectly. It wants to stall a little bit if i come down off the throttle quickly, but its not bad, and usually popping the clutch will catch it.

I'll have pics up soon, and if anyone is interested, this will probably be a cheaper alternative to the other hard pipe kits available, and they look and perform just as great!

Good times today!!

Sweet I am new to the forum and just got a Blue Metallic MSP and its AWSOME!!! So I was just wondering which pipes you got and where can I get some. Also does it come with a BOV flange?
and are those the pipes that go to the intercooler??

Cant wait till I can beat my buddies brand new SRT-4 ( that b**** is fast)

Very cool! Post pics for us.

Welcome MSP For Life. Good to have you. I wouldn't hold your breath on beating that SRT-4 but good luck Modding!! :D

Custom pipes made by Upgrade Performance in Louisville, Ky.
I'm taking pics today, its kinda sunny out. IM gonna talk to the owner about a price. Probably 500 for pipes and intake. But im not sure.
BOV/flange would be extra, unless provided.
I
Install is easy, just removing the old pipes and using the supplied hose clamps and connectors.

More to come!

Damn dude, around here the SRT4s are selling a few grand over the 21K price tag... that made my decision... buy my MSP UNDER msrp, or buy the neon for just under the MSRP of the WRX...

I've seen 200+ MPH Geo Metros too, that doesn't make them anything more than a Geo.

Heres some pics of the Pipes

The pipes look cool now, but theyre just bare alum, and they're kinda flawed, some scratches from fabrication.
Im not gonna make them super shiny, but for now, i want them a little cleaner looking, and its not hard at all. Bench grinder, wire wheel, some socks and mag polish. :D
The plan is to powdercoat them sometime later, probably black, or a gunmetal like color.

are you still having any turkey with your blowoff? Just trying to find out the general cause...most cars with hardpipes have the FMIC and get the turkey. You just have the hardpipes to the stock IC, so it'll be interesting to know if that solves it.

The Hks flutters a tiny bit before opening all the way, but thats the way it's designed. It flutters less with the spring loose.
The Blow off is a sharp chirp, then a soft woosh. Sounds really good, and its pretty loud.. even louder the more boost you run.

The car hasnt stalled any more, but then again, i'm alot easier on it coming down, and i think putting a breather filter on a hose that runs to the crankcase will help.
Could be the ECU is learning too.
