Pioneer or Kenwood?

PIONEER!!!!!!!!!!
I bought the premier version of that HU and couldn't be happier. I love it. Works really good. Sound is awesome and its easy to take your own vids and put the on the HU. I have some mazdaspeed ones if you want. But I would spend the extra $5-10 or whatever the difference is and get the premier version. the only real difference is that the premier has a higher preout voltage and has a 2 year wwarrenty rather than only 1. and with the face opening and closing all the time...........i might need that extra year.

you have the stock p5 stereo? yeah i guess you'll need the instal kit then. since i had the msp radio it was an easy switch. heres a pic i JUST took like 5 min ago...........again great radio. everyone compliments me on it. and the knob thing is just really cool.

Pioneer Dawgh! lol kenwood breaks alot, also when getting a HU take into consideration the motors on teh faceplate, they will burn out, i mean think about it u open it 4+ times a day plus close thats 8+ closes, then yearly it adds up and its inevitable that it will break, look for something that doesn't have any motors. just a thought. (kissass)

i was scared about the motor part too............but its so pimp when it opens up for you!!! and the stock msp one spins around so i didn't want to downgrade by getting one that i have to take all the way off on my own. im too lazy(i mean american) for that!

mostly i just want to get it from an authorized retailer, last time when i cheap out on the car alarm/remote starter..... viper told me the place that i got from isn't an authorized retailer and won't warranty it.... lol
well i prolly don't need the kit because i m getting a msp pocket from one of the member here.... but i am just wondering if the stock speakers would be good enough, and how much would it cost if i want to buy a new set.

I didn't even check the models, but as a general rule Kenwood's sound nice, but crap out before too long... no durability, Where as Pioneer is making some of the best consumer level units available right now. Though I would suggest the premier version for the longer warranty

stop right there. my setup is using the stocks, what car do you have? if u have 2003+ protege5 then keep the stocks! just watch ur volume they will blow if u send too much power and just let a sub take care of the bass, have them with no bass and u will be set

regarding the motor, they break, even with warranties! so screw warrantys (fu) honestly, ur the radios warranty, ur wallet is, so treat it like a baby (kissass) if u get a motor one.

i think i spent $140 for my pinoeer speakers for my mp3. and they were very nice! and as far as the ipod.......the hu opens and closes every time you turn the car off. but i think you can tell it not to do that........ill check later tonight when i go out. i got an aux input for my hu and pluged it into where the cd changer would go and thats how i connected my ipod. cost me $25. scroll down to the bottom of this link and you can see the speakers i got

ok ur HU i have my bass set to low on the EQ so my rears and sides and tweeters don't take any of the bass, then i have the "tiresub" connected still but i don't have the bass all the way up just alittle.

now u need a sub to take care of the bass (lick)

:)

yes one of the few uses for the damn spare tire sub is to let it handle the bass frequencies between 80-120hz and then let the main 10-18" sub handle below 80hz
