I'm looking for pictures of installs of large stereo systems in a Mazda 3 Hatch. I have 2-12" Alpine Type X woofers with Alpine Type R Components to go in front and back of this car...JL Audio provides the amplification with the JL Audio 1000/1 and the 300/4. I just want to see some photos of 12" subs mounted in these cars. How much room do they take up? Are you happy with the available space? Any feedback would be great

I must be showing my age when the first thing I imagined after seeing the title was a MS3 with racks of fish in the back.

very happy with hatch space
hits like a b****

lol i wouldn't leave the sub on the back seat like that. someone will break the window and steal it.

Wow am I overtired. I was wondering what this thread was doing in the electronics section, because when I saw the title, I thought someone had a great day fishing.

Edit: I really should have read the previous responses before posting (self administers dope slap)

I'm running a JL Audio 12" DVC on a 250/1 and Infinity Kappa components in all four doors off a 300/4 v2 and it's plenty loud.

The 12" sub is in a sealed box in the hatch...a custom spare tire well box is coming next summer when I switch to run flats...and then I'll get the hatch space back.

Eons ago I had a Sunbird with the works stereo system. Extra battery, high output alternator, the entire back seat was pulled and a custom cabinet with speakers and amps took its place.
I was coming out of a store in a mall one day and came up from behind three teenagers as they spotted the car. They didn`t see or hear me, but it didn`t matter. Just as one of them said, "guys, check out this stereo!", the 90 pound white German Shepherd curled up on the passenger seat sat up and looked at him. They all stepped back and one of them actually laughed and said, "forget it, you aren`t stealing any of that equipment." The first one stepped towards the car again and the dog went into an "aggressive posture".
They walked away, two of them laughing, the other shaking his head at the system that got away.
Who needs a car alarm?

Thnks for pointing out my non stealthiness

Thanks for pointing out my non stealthiness

Compared to my old system, yours is the very picture of stealth.
I`m going to end up with a pair of 8 inch subs on the rear floor of my car (I already own them from a previous install and they are very musical, so I see no point in replacing them). I pretty much never have anybody else in the car. My wife prefers to go in her truck (much more room for two big people) and my stepson is afraid of it (wimpy teenager). This means I don`t need to worry about the back seat.
