Pics with Tein or H&R anyone?

I'm having trouble deciding which springs i want to go with. i've narrowed it down to the H&R sports and the Tein S-Tech. if you have either of these springs installed on your P5 could you post up a pic? i just want to see if there is much of a difference visually. i've had H&R for years with my CRX's and civics and can get a decent price on a set for my P5, but can get an even better price on the Teins. i like the fact that the Teins are slightly lower in the front as well. any pics or feedback (ONLY ON THESE 2 SPRINGS PLS) would be appreciated. TIA. (rockon)

I'd say if you are looking for advice, stick with something with less drop than the S-Tech's because it can be a b**** if you have a lot of steep driveways but it does ride pretty good.

some people have gone up to 60k mi on stock struts, but they were using less aggressive springs like eibachs or msp. so the shocks will last a bit.

but most people would recommend that you buy some tokicos for 2 reasons. 1. you might get that dreaded clunk and 2. the stock struts will eventually give out and you'll need to replace them anyways.

but like i said you should last a while on stockers if the funds aren't available.

In my opinion, if I had known, I probably would have waited a little longer and gotten either espelirs or eibachs. I'll try to get you pics of my car on stock rims.

I'd go with eibachs. H&R's have fitment issues (at least on my application). and i dont think there is much of a change in spring rates with the tech s. Ebachs are just awsome.

I've been looking at the Tein's for quite some time now and they seem like they're quite a bit stiffer than stock. Accoring to the spring guide, if the MP5's stock spring rates are like the MSP's then the Tein's are definitely stiffer. Also, according to that little chart the Tein's are also stiffer the the Prokit. However, the drop is recorded as 1.5/1.8 front/rear which is wrong as it is 1.8/1.5 front/rear so I don't know how accurate that chart is (some people here swear by it). I guess the other thing you have to look into is if you want linear or progressive springs. The Eibach's are progressive so they'll give a little more at first but stiffen up during hard driving whereas the Tein's are linear so they're pretty much the same all the way around. Hope this helps.

They aren't that much stiffer than stock. I've got em and they almost feel stocklike but maybe a little stiffer. In my opinion, I think I would have been happier with a set of eibachs than Tein S-Tech springs.

That is certainly true, although I guess if he wanted something really stiff he'd have asked for coilover suggestions. I was debating Eibach for a long time because I thought the drop was perfect - but the price and the fact that they are progressive persuaded me against them. Afterall, I can get the Tein's for as low as like $160 whereas Eibach's can run for $220+ (boom07) . To each his own I presume although I will admit MP3Architect's MP3 looks amazing with the wheel/tire/drop combination (thumb) .

I never had any fitment issues. Can you explain what problems you had?

same thing I was thinking, I never had any issues with H&R's, and I wouldn't trade them for anything, I love them. My drop is 2 1/4(with a lil modding) but I think the normal drop is 1.5, yes it is a b**** sometimes with certain bumps and stuff, sometimes almost parrallel to most of them, but the ride is incredible, to me at least. Also, I have gotten many many comliments from the way my car sits, especially from non-mazda owners.
