Pics of prototype MSP w/ECU flash

Mazdaspeed should sell an upgrade IC and pipe kit. Just like Mopar supports the SRT-4. Only thing you can get from MS is hats and shirts. No real performance parts.

No real proformance parts? Our car comes with a TON of stuff already. Then you can go aftermarket for another whole slew of stuff.

Yeah...but no factory performance, is what he meant. Mazdaspeed is Mazda's Nismo, SVT, etc. in Japan...yet here all they have are hats unless you want to blow your wad on j-spec parts that may not fit.

Just to clarify - I've got the Injen CAI, and Joe's fpr kit tapped into that - Are there any known issues with getting the ECU flash (if and whenever it comes out) if I've got the fpr kit, or should I remove that first? I just don't want to get the flash and have something bad happen due to the fpr already installed...just wondering...

yes I'm late !
no offense, but what's the point of putting an aftermarket intercooler in that same lame area and not relocating it to the optimal area ... behind lower front bumper ... I don't see the point ... otherwise. nice car

i believe the IC replacement would be because the stock IC has plastic ends and that new one has metal ends.

...and better internals, jeez, dont you guys read?

It probably flows better and has less heat soak.

Since when do you have to be able to READ to flame?

Stock IC location isn't that bad - a below-bumper IC has a few more issues when slushy and some of our MSP's (mine, certainly) will see significant winter duty! iIn addition, easier to bump when parking etc (hey not everybody drives as wellas WE do ;) )Remember, Mazda has to worry about the long-term and warranty stuff b/c not everyone who buys their cars is an enthusiast...

New radiator if go to FMIC? Only if there are cooling issues - if the gap left by removal of the stock IC allows too much air past the stock radiator it'd be easier/cheaper to just fab a shield to direct the air to the radiator than to buy a new rad...

I'm very excited about the flash - my MSP's at the dealer again because of the alarmn (purposely misspelled - I like the sniglet!) leaving the parking lights on... and I complained again about the hesitation though the tech "couuld not verify condition" last time it was in, but did at least note that they'd call Mazda tech on it...).
