Just bought an Autometer Ultra Lite Boost Gauge, and am curious to see if anyone has any pics of a single or dual pod on their A-pillar. I don't want it to look to "rice" if you know what I mean, but I can't really see any other decent place to put it. I've already done a search and couldn't find anything. Thanks for your help! :)

i made a custom one for stepson( guy here on the fourms) and it actually came out nicer than mine but here is a pic of mine and i can make you one if you want it will cost about $200 in parts and labor including a new pillar from mazda($60)vinyl($30)shipping($20)and labor($90) PM me if you want to know more or PM stepson ans ask him how he likes his - Brian

That looks great OrangeMSP, but the $200 is a little steep for me. I was actually hoping for something that was between $50 and $100. (Hopefully closer to $50 than $100. I'm really poor right now) :(

I like the way the steering column pod looks, but I'm not sure if I like the fact that it blocks the view to the gauges. Especially because I have my steering wheel tilted all the way up because I'm tall. But that is a very clean looking pod.

Orange, do you have a full picture of the driver's side view? I'm curious how it looks with the rest of the gauges, and if the a-pillar pod obstructs the view out of the windshield much. Thanks for all your help guys.

I love my Pillar!

Damn, I have been meaning to post, I gotta get some pics too, but I put my pillar in last weekend and it looks great! The only problem I had was I broke one of the tabs that helps hold the pillar in, so now its a little loose. Gotta get in there with the hot glue gun and glue that sucker back in place.

The only problems I had with the pillar were my own fault :(. It didn't come with a hole cut in the vinyl for the gauge itself, so I cut it out with my exacto knife, but I did a poor job and so some of the vinyl curls out from behind the gauge :(. Its not really noticable unless you are me. That is totally my fault though, and not indicative of Brian's work! He did an awesome job on this pillar! I would highly recommend, if you are looking for something that looks a little nicer than just an autometer cup stuck onto the stock pillar ....

Brian, did you have any problems getting yours one due to the extra thickness of the vinyl as compared to stock?

go there, i think it's the best single gauge for msp

FYI.....just be careful when ordering through this site. if you provide CC information, then you should be very very careful becuase the site DOES NOT employ any type of security. all information submitted through that form can potentially be captured during transfer by unauthorized hackers.

Thanks for the tip. I'll think twice before placing an order there.

As for the Autometer pods, I'm really only looking for a single pod, and I'm not sure where to order those. Plus, they don't have any pictures of them which is why I'm hesitant to order it, and why I started this thread. I figured someone out there had mounted their boost gauge on their A-pillar in a single pod, and had some good pictures.

Orange's picture was great, but I was just curious about how the whole driver's side view was affected from the pod. (And I'm too poor to drop that kind of cash on a stinkin' pod. I mean I know you pay for quality and all, but my MBC and gauge cost less than $100. So to pay twice that for a pod???? I just can't justify that on my limited income). I'd rather set my gauge in my cup holders! ;)

The autometer pods can be orders from Jegs or Summit Racing. Price is around $50-$60 plus shipping.

2 Pod $27.95

1 Pod $21.95

2 Pod Full Pillar $55.95

3 Pod Full Pillar $58.95

Ive got the full 3 pillar pod and i think it looks absolutely beautiful!!!! I got mine from jegs, you can call them 24-7 at 1800-345-4545 to find out if they have it or anything else in stock for the protege!!! personally, I think its the way to go and it covers the whole pillar and looks like it came in there from the factory.

That's good to know Memphis...thanks.

I know where to get the A-pillar pods, but I still wanted to see if anyone had a picture, or could take a picture, of them from the driver's seat (including the dash gauges). I'm just curious to see what it looks like. I've seen a lot of good pictures of just the pod unit mounted on the A-pillar, but none of how it relates to the rest of the car and windshield. If anyone has a picture or a link, it would be much appreciated. Thanks again.
