Just picked up my MSP today and I'm loving the colour and the car as a whole. I just feel uncomfortable with it having sooo much room. Don't get me wrong, I need that room ( i have a 2 yr old boy) but I'm just not used to it.

Couple of things i noted. Man, I can already feel/see/hear some of the common problems that are in the sticky thread after only having it for 10hrs. Good thing I read that sticky as I get real paranoid sometimes.

Out of all the cars I've ever had this has the less torque ( 98 honda prelude, 03 spec V, 91 240sx) or maybe it just feels like it. but I can definitely tell the difference betweem torque and horsepower, i never understood the difference before but i feel it now.

anyways, i've got a few questions regarding my future plans, I will post them later. Mainly it has to do with me getting the ECU flashed or not....

By far the MSP is the best bang for my buck car i've ever owned and/or driven, and i have a wide array of experience ranging from Porsche Carrere 4's to G35's to Preludes, to Hyundai Pony's hehehe, Good Work Mazda and thanks for the board on silently persuading me towards the MSP....

its the turbo lag....on my old 240 i had instant torque and power....now i gotta wait for the turbo to spool (dance)

Welcome to the boards! Glad your enjoying your car, 3 months till I've owned mine for a year and the only problems I've had was the clunk which the dealer fixed a long time ago and I don't hear it anymore and the hesitation. If you got the car brand new from the dealership I believe it is flashed already not sure on that though someone else correct if I'm wrong about that. I had it and I got it flashed haven't had the hesitation since. I felt it was worth doing.

welcome welcome ! enjoy the car and the excellent color choice (WTF am i talking about they're all FANTASTIC !).. maybe if this car is around when your boy grows up to the legal age of driving, he too will enjoy this car someday. this board can seem a bit unruly with all the different people on here, but you'll be glad you joined.

get a free flowing exhaust...it doesnt even feel like i have a turbo anymore, its serioulsy that instant power.

Thanks guys. I don't know if it's been flashed, it was a demo car, some Mazda exec drove it. I was going to make a post about having it flashed or not. I eventually want to up my boost and get an FMIC but that's not for another year ( i want to make sure i can handle finances B4 i throw more $$$ into it ) but from what i read if you get a BC you shouldn't get it flashed but I also read some ppl with increase boost have it flashed??? (dunno)

Same here, turbo lag is nonexistant in my car...I usually end up boosting slightly even when I'm not trying to.
