Does anyone have recommendations for a CX-50 phone mount / holder / charger that does not "clip" into/on vents?

I know this is not an answer, but why is it that you want a mount? I just leave mine in the wireless charger slot and use Android Auto.

CX-50 Hybrid owner here. I ordered both the one that attache's the car's dash

I also ordered one that hooks into the car's cup holder. We shall see which one prevails!

There's really only 3 options:
1. Vent
2. Connects to physical dash (The one I posted)
3. Cup holder phone mount

@RedBaron I understand his frustration. I love the physical wheel controls, but it's super hard to choose & control my podcasts and especially my music. with my phone mounted I can do that

Can't you do that on the AA/CP touch screen just as well?

This particular instance is for my dad's cx50. He's seen my setup in our cx5 and wants something similar.

Personally, I prefer having things separated on the device screens instead of all on AA (or Car Play) through the infotainment.

Weather-Tech makes a nice, adjustable one that fits in your cup holder. A bit pricey but durable & protects your phone from flying all over the cabin when doing radical maneuvers.

Weather Tech cup phone holder. A bit pricey but durable & wont allow your phone to fly all over your cabin when you need to do radical maneuvers.

Thanks for the reply cx50hybrid. I did see that Amazon dash clip. Couple of others as well (proclip ... Kinda pricey at $40 PLUS addition holder unit) and A-Tach mounts
The ProClip is pricey but worth it. I had one in my NB and NC Miatae. I would have bought another for my ND but I use wireless AA so it stays in my pocket. If you decide to go with one, I recommend the adjustable phone holder. Should your dad ever upgrade his phone it's very likely that the new phone will still fit in the adjustable holder.

Kuda is hands above the best phone mounts on the market, bar none. But they don't make them for every car.

Close second is Pro-Clip, and those are available for just about every car!

Dad went with the one @cx50hybrid posted a link from Amazon.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/ (commissions earned)

Mounted to the dash quick and (mostly) easy using the included plastic trim pry tool. I say "mostly" because it does take a little pressure to "snap" the bottom into place after getting the top installed. Up and running in a couple minutes. Phone blocks a little of the HVAC control section view but dad is happy with it.

It looks good, hardly noticeable if a phone is not in the holder and seems nice and solid and stable.

Thanks again for the suggestions 👍
