I am curiious about where this is going as well. I don't think my 2025 gives the option ot texting through the Mazda software. It will read the text in a computer like tone but there is no option to respond.

Yeah, it displays and reads incoming text messages so you can continue to be "hands-free". I am not sure if you can respond—I haven't tried.

Never was an option to respond, you need to pull over and send the text through your phone.

So, I finally was able to get by the dealership again. A manager and another individual tried their phones in my CX5 and it was the same problem I have. We then tried my phone in a different CX5 and it worked as it should. They are stumped. I have an appointment to leave it for the day to see if there is anything they can figure out.

Just an update in the event others have this problem. Mazda kept the CX5 for a week. They were able to eventually figure out the problem. Mazda had them start eliminating modules and parts one by one. Eventually they determined that it was the Bose Amp for whatever reason. The service manager was shocked that this was somehow linked to the issues I was having. After replaced though everything was corrected. Since no one else has had this problem, I figure this is a one off. But if you do have this issue, that is how they fixed it.

Not necessarily connected to your specific issue but heads up! If you have an iPhone and if you have Face ID enabled to access certain apps, including phone calls or text messages or whatever, those apps protected by Face ID will not come on the CarPlay screen, you won't be able to use those apps through CarPlay.
