Petition for Motor Mount Failure "Sticky" - Its an important issue!

Whitey,...I believe they made a total of 5000 Speed 3's, of which America gets their slice of them.

I think its 5K to the US alone. Canada gets a few more.

Nondual definitely had this problem. You might contact him, but he hasn't been around as much.

When I asked the tech about it, he said that it is happening on the M3 04-05 but that he hadn't seen it on the speed3 or newer model 3. The warning signs are heavy vibration at highway speeds.

Thanks for fighting this battle. My bolts are good thus far but its a concern.

Even for 5 of these incidents to occur is too many. Especially with the failure clearly identified. Its sad that we have to be scared to unleash the power mazda put into this car.

I dont think there as many that had this happen as you make it sound. I know you are one person but other then that I havent seen any others and for the amount of of these cars out there that would yield a very small percentage of failures.

Things happen and maybe it was a poorly produced bolt with a bad metal or something but I dont think all of our motors are going to start falling out of our cars.

That may be true, but the fact that at least 3 people on this board alone (I've seen pictures on other sites as well) have had this happen out of the how many of us on here with MS3's doesn't bode well. Those aren't odd's I'd like to entertain personally. Doubt the issue's severity all you want, but wouldn't you feel more comfortable if Mazda issued a recall and fixed it before anything bad happened? I'd rather be safe, than sorry, irritated or dead. Lets not forget the loss of value in the car once it's noted on the car's carfax that the driveline fell out of the car.
