Perrin fmic Anybody got one and is it hard to install? Oh... And whats a good wastegate to replace the stock one with?

I have the Perrin FMIC. Install didnt take to long probably around 3-4 hours if you have installed a fmic before. Oh and we have an internal wastegate.

Whats up mspeed101, i noticed you have a lot of perrin parts. Hows the exhaust sound and did you get the perrin downpipe?

Hey whats up. The perrin sound clip in the exhaust thread above is of my car. It sounds really good imo. Its basically a full turboback exhaust with the exception of the S/J pipe. If you want a full turboback you would have to go with GHL.

I'm getting my FMIC kit and manifold from Mental Addiction in about 2 months. I was originally going to go with Perrin with the front mount, but I've heard that it takes FOREVER to get it. Back orders... bad customer service... something like that.

Wow...ok. I thought I heard a few people on here say it took forever to get theirs. Nevermind then I guess. lol Show pics and tell us about the install when your done. Also would like to know about the cutting and any other modifications you had to do, if any.

Yeah, I ordered it from a local performance shop on 2/2 and it arrived on 2/15. The install is just about completed now, I am just waiting on the heat shield, which is getting polished. I know that these pictures are not the greatest, but it gives you an idea.

The installation is not all that difficult if you take your time, there is just a lot of stuff that has to be relocated or cut. Here is a picture of the cut out on the driver's side. I didn't get a picture of the cut on the passenger side.

This was the first cut, I had to go back later and make it a little bigger to provide enough clearance for the pipe & coupler because the pipe from the IC to the TB was not fitting right. I bought a slightly longer coupler for the connection on the end tank, and that solved that problem.

Also, if you plan on removing the stick SMIC the Perrin kit does not come with a bracket for the radiator, and if you don't tie it down somehow it will flop around. Here is the bracked that I made. It is 2 pieces of aluminum that I measured & cut and then had welded together, and then I had the whole thing polished.

Here are a couple of pictures with the IC mounted.

The bumper is just sitting in place for a test fit in this shot. The IC seems to be a little bit over to the left and not exactly centered, but I am not too worried about that.

Overall I think that the quality of this kit is outstanding. My only problem was the fitment of the IC to TB pipe, which was easily fixed. Unfortunately most aftermarket parts don't fit exactly right in all situations. The routing of the pipes is very direct, and the fact that there are only 2 pipes and 4 connections is good too. Now I am just waiting for the Perrin BOV to arrive and that will be the last piece of my install. Then I can take it for a test drive.

I wouldn't say lots. You just need to make 2 cut outs, one on either side of the radiator.

Cool, I was looking at possibly getting this kit. 1 piece pipes are nice. How does their bumper support compare with stock? Can you put larger radiator?

The bumper support is considerably smaller than the stock one, and it bolts into the factory location. I believe that it can be used with an upgraded radiator.

Looks nice!

I was one of the people that waited a little over 2 months to recive thiers. However, I was the second person in the country to purchase one, and they were still refining some of the mounting points on the kit when I ordered it, so it was to be expected that I wait a little longer.

Great Kit. Get one, its teh sex.

well i got mine in last week and let me tell you . i have spent a total of two hrs on it in the past week and i am like 75% done. the install is very easy i just have to work on the weekdays so i am just takeing my time. the only thing i dont like about the kit is all of the relocateing ie the ac condenser there is not much room for error there but yeah just my 2 cents ...

just some more info on the perrin fmic. it seems that everyone i have seen with the perrin has had the offset look its not perfectly centered on the bumper so you have to make adjs.. it looks like its allways shifted to the pass side i have to take my bumper off next weeked and adj it .. but the car pulls so hard now omg.. is all i have to say.. .

We have the Perrin FMIC to you guys in 3-5 days depending on shipping location.
