Has anyone added to their CX-9,any performance and gas mileage devices to enhance your vehicle?

K&n

So far, only K&N filter (OE replacement type, not CAI).
No observable MPG gain, but feel engine is more responsive. (rev happy) This is subjective of course! I have no data to support it. I like it enough to keep it on.

Thanks, I was hopeing someone had tried the performance chips that are out, plenty on E-bay.

same here just the regular k&n filter, and my professional driving experience lol =) according to my calculations i get 15-16 mpg city, 20-21 urban. But i drive it @ high revs and semi auto... i shift up like after 4000 rpm... to feel the acceleration, Cause my other car is an 06' jaguar xj8 and its pretty fast for a saloon car, but i still get 20 mpg city, 27 mpg highway which is acceptable for a powerful V8.

Umm you can buy a 3k3 ohm resistor for $1 in a 5 pack at Radio Shack. That is what you get for the performance chip, some even sell vairalbe resistors with knobs so you can tune up or down your performance. I am not kidding.

Hey Guys!

I was approached by a CX-9 Member last weekend and after talking with him, Im going to be making a CAI available for the CX-9. I hope to get on the project later this week and have some news/results soon.

Thanks!

I know about the resistor, but which 2 connections does it go across on the 6 wires on the IAT, I figure that means Inlet Ambient Tempature.

Just Fyi...

IAT = Intake Air Temp (Measured at the Mass Air Flow sensor (MAF) )

AAT= Ambient Ait Temp (Measured from a sensor in your lower front grill)

:)

Be sure to post dynos before and after the mod. (cabpatch)

Hello Tom S,
Did you had the chance to locate the "right" wire on IAT? Let me know how it went. thanks

Tom,
Here's the wiring map as I mentioned in PM to you. Hope this help. I'm going to try it out this evening after work. Let you know the outcome.

Thanks

Thanks

I bridged it across the White & Black wires, now its waiting time to see if it works. Took it for a drive, not sure if its me wanting to feel the difference or it seems to be taking in more air by the sound of the engine. Need to take on trip to find out.

Hey Tom,
No probelmo. PM me once you have the "feeling" on the product. I've installed last night and drove this morning. It might be just my imagination of wanting something improvement, but it seems smoother. Time will tell. Have fun with the gadget.

I'll be pulling my Scangauge II out of my F150 this weekend and installing it in my 9.

It should give a better idea of mileage, especially trip, and instant.
