People WITHOUT smoking issues w/a DP

But will I still use the test pipe? Lestat13 I guess you answered the question stating that the CP-e is a one piece unit replacing both the stock DP and TP

Yes, the cobb and cp-e are one piece downpipes replacing the factory downpipe and testpipe, while the turbo xs and corksport has two separate pieces they sell, an aftermarket downpipe and an aftermarket testpipe, so you can run either or both.

OMG thats like a lot of mods OMG. thats my online john travolta impression. seriously....lot of mods.

Can people start adding when their car's build date was? I think that would be very useful for people to see if there are cars that are not smoking that were built around the time theirs are.

Also, specify oil weight. AutoXRacer did (10W-40), but I didn't see any others. Alot of people have reported their smoking decreased or completed stopped going with a heavier oil.

Mods in list, waited to switch to synthetic around 10,000 miles (5w30) mobile 1, than at 40,000 miles switched to 10w30 mobile 1. Have no smoking issue that I see. Sometimes see a little puff out of the rear when I WOT for a split second, but I believe that is just a carbon build up. No smoke on starts.

Side note, please tell me everybody's tailpipe turns black like 500 miles after washing it. (running rich I hope)

Also, bought the car in Feburary of 2007, not 100% sure on the build date

Not one day of smoking, sputtering, or knocking. The only time that i see anything out of the ordinary is around 3100rpm in 5th gear (about 0.6-1.0 degrees of knock), but that has already been called out for being the inbalance in our engines.

I spike as high as 20psi, but i would have to say that peak is around 19psi consistantly....

...oh yeah...untuned w/ great a/f and zero knock...and no smoking

Yea, but mine does it in like 50-100 miles.

the majority of that is carbon build up. dont forget...these cars run super rich. watch in your rear view mirror when you go WOT and get a few sputters. looks like a cloud of misquitos.....or carbon....depends on how your imagination is. if you feel the "soot" on your exhaust with your fingers it shouldnt be the least bit slippery. carbon is very dry and will feel more like a powdery....dryness. you know im not to good at explaining things. someone chime in at any time. lol.

I'm smoking so badly it is now coming in through my air vents.... 5w30 ftl. I am switching to euro spec synthetic 5w40 to see if it fixes this.....

Wow. That probably means you have an oil leak at the turbo which is burning and entering your cabin air intake.

its more than likely the smoke in the cabin is from that external leak. if you car smokes open your hood and check at the back of the motor. there will be smoke leaving the turbo area. pretty obviously stated but if it is leaking there you have a problem worth fixing asap for car and health reasons. lol.

Fixed the internal smoking!!!! Turns out when I swapped intercoolers back to stock after a bit of driving one of the boost tubes started to wiggle its way out of the hose clamp. I guess the smoke was slipping out the boost tube and into the vents.
