hay guys havnt been on here in awhile.

anyways, when i get on the brakes kinda hard the parking brake light comes on and then goes off when i let off them all the way.
im scared because my car went out of warranty about 2 months ago

i dont have abs by the way.

Off topic, but I've been meaning to ask...how do u know if u have abs or not (besides just slamming on the brakes to see if they lock up or not)?

it cost extra on 02.5. you should have an abs light on the cluster when you turn on the car and it may say abs on the brake pedal

Ok, def don't have either of those (a good thing in my opinion).

ABS and the side air bags go together as an option, if you have the side airbags, you are almost certain to have ABS

adding fluid is not what you do. i have this same thing happening to me. i still have meat on my pads but i guess we have a sensative level sensor. if you have to add fluid it means you have a leak which isn't good. brake fluid isn't going to be burned away or evaporate....you need to check your pads and rotors. or hell we could have a faulty sensor.

As the pads wear the system's capacity for fluid increases, since the pistons in the calipers adjust to hold the thinner pad. It's fine to add fluid, but it will have to come back out when the pads are replaced.

sure it'll have to come back out but adding the fluid will help only to aleviate the light at most. its not as if when you take your foot of the brake pedal the worn pads will recede all the way back. they will stay at a certain proximity to the rotor. hence adding the fluid will not gain you any advantage.
