Looks badass, thats what I eventually want to do. I want to get all my IC pipes and the valve cover powder coated black, then get a friend of mine to air brush some mazda logos and what not on the pipes with the same color red as my car.

Okay, final product... and interior pics too.

Overall good effort. Maybe some spots were sanded more than others. Or maybe just too much paint on some.

I sandblasted mine made it soo easy cause the surface is rough for paint all you have to do is wipe it down with a pre cleaner.

Don't do that to your interior. It looks bad and tacky and you will regret it. Put it back to stock.

Powdercoating is the only way to make the valve cover look right. Even with high temp paint and a professional painter, the cover will have an "orange peel" look to it.

I could get my cover not to have the orange peel look if i wanted to paint it gloss :). I decided to go the wrinkle paint route tho.

Nice try, but the piece around the shifter looks pretty rough (ugh)

I was lazy and just got the engine cover :)

What the hell happened?

In this photo (page 1) you were off to a great start. Nice smooth coat.

But in this photo it has gone to s***.

It looks like you tried to put a thick coat of paint on and stopped/started spraying in the middle somewhere. The texture is very uneven and looks lumpy in some places and smooth in others.

A for effort (letters look great btw) but if that were my valve cover I would pull out the sanding block and give it another go.

same thing happened to me with my first car way back in the day....results look the same and it was caused by being overzealous and putting on a couple thick layers of paint instead of many thin ones. like chuyler1 said, i would probably give it a light sand and a couple more light coats.

Yeah, i need to re-do it. It was my first time, i should of stayed with the first coat
