Painting front screws after taking license plate off?

Hey, I took my front plate off and was thinking of putting the screws back in the holes and painting them with some touch up paint. Before you ask, I already searched and found a thread about this but couldn't find the answer to my question. Do I need to do anything to the screws prior to painting them? Will the paint stay on the screws without any prep? Kinda weird question, but just wanted to make sure before I did this. I'm new to modding, so cut me some slack!! Haha, thanks guys!

you can just spray them... but the paint will not stick to good... any kind of contact and the paint will just come off... maybe some primer first might help and some light sanding with 300-400 grit sandpaper

no problem... yea i tried painting screws/bolts... and the paint just comes off but then i never tried sanding, primer, or even cleaning the screws/bolts before painting... btw you could also look for a specialty fastener store around you... they do have anodized colored screws.

Awesome man, I'll look into that. I also read somewhere that most auto parts stores have little plugs they sell for plugging bumper holes. Might have to look into that also.

they do sell plugs... or you could just go to a body shop and the'll bondo them up for you...

wish i didn't have to put holes in my bumper but it's state law here that requires a front license plate.

Any idea which of their whites is the best white for a pure white Protege5?

Right now I just have the holes open. Nothing is plugging them at all.

Send them an email. I got a very quick response from them on what color to use. The color reference chart may help you. It has Laser Blue Mica listed so maybe the Mazda white is there as well.
