Painting daveB rings

i was looking through the forums and i couldn't really find a definite answer to my question. i'm about to purchase red daveB rings from a member of this forum and i was wondering if i could restore the original color of the rings or at least paint them back to brushed silver. Any help would be useful. Thanks.

Try taking the paint off with some sort of solvent/paint remover. If that fails, sand it down, primer, and paint silver.

believe it or not you might wanna try brake fluid to strip paint, but I don't know how the material will hold up to the solvent *try at ur own risk* you've been warned!

i would suggest sandin, primer, paint. you dont want to go pouring chemicals on it in case it ***** up the plastic. those rings are hard to find.

Plastic???? I think 3M makes some nifty paint remover that's like citrus based, no bad fumes, no gloves. I got it at Home Depot to use on a valve cover, worked great.

i asked the guy who's selling and he says that the rings are aluminum. i don't know if he's mistaken but if they were aluminum i'm sure they'd be a lot easier to handle as opposed to plastic. does anyone know if they're really aluminum or plastic?

lol, the funny thing is, i read my post above and was like, "plastic, who the **** posted that." then realized i did. i dont know wtf i was thinking when i posted that.

ken is right, i got the krunk juice all up in me....SK33T
