Painting carpet?

is it possible to change the color of sub woofer enclosure carpet, i think its like a spray on carpet and its an ugly grey. it matched my old car's trunk but the protege5's carpet is black and i would like to spray paint it black or somethign to that effect

If its the spray on paint to look like carpet then you can just carpet over it. If it is carpet just rip it off and re carpet it in the caolor you want.
