Black would be cool, or a nice silver. The more painted calipers I see that are obnoxious colors, the more I think they should be painted something subdued. That way it's kind of stealth, but looks very nice.

Do silver. My car is silver and I did mine silver and it looks awesome. It doesn't stand out like a sore thumb, but it's very clean! My mechanic looked at them when we went to work on the suspension and he asked me how I was able to keep my brakes looking so new. I said I just painted them and he thought they looked great with the car.

i was thinking black or silver., here are the cons IMO
black- won't be that noticable
silver- won't stay clean ( i usually wash weekly) but brake dust sure can look ugly.

but i like both ideas
if i do silver maybe get some sunlight silver touch up. but i would prob need 400 of those little bottles

You cant use the touch up paint it will not be able to stand the heat.

yeah i was just kiddin about that but this does bring up some questions as to the best way to do this.
1. should i pullthem completely off? and if i do i know people say replace the pads as they never reseat as well (i have brandy new pads on). or can i just pull the wheel and paint really carefully.
2. would it better to buy new calipers that have no rust or can i just clean 'em real good with a wire brush?
3. what is the Right/best paint to use?

If you use alot of paper and tape everything off well you should be alright. Some caliper paints are even brushed on. My buddy did it on his accord and it looked really good.

Unles the caliper is pitted from the rust you should just be able to clean them up really good.

Any paint that can withstand at least 400 degrees F

i painted mine red and the rotor hubs black. i cleaned off everything with a dremel wire brush attachment and then put down two coats of engine primer followed by 3 coats of hi-temp paint. i actually sprayed the paint into a cup and then brushed it on with a soft paintbrush.

i have a little dremel and i like the brush on idea! thanks

Ya I'll post pics as soon as I get a hold of the camera. I did mine two months ago, and I drive alot, and mine are still looking perfect. I hose them off a bit when I wash, but they still look fresh.

I did mine black at first just to get rid of the rust. Then I thought it needed a touch of color. The red on silver works great as a theme that continues into the engine bay.

CX-7 comes with silver painted ?????

Looks good, even through a light dusting of brake dust.

thought about gold for the classic red but thought it might clash with the bronze wheel. so i just went classic rice red:)

Dear God. A Supra trying to look like a Lotus Elise via a crappy body kit. That is horrifying. How can that be your dream car? It's all plastic/fiberglass crap.
