on a side note, I think racism is stupid and it's just a way for people to get attention for themselves. I honestly can say that I would not give a sh!t if someone called me a dumb polock or a nazi or an irish mick or whatever. What makes saying jewed or stupid jew or nigger any different to the point where you're not allowed to say it anywhere? I'm so sick of people trying to find a reason to feel sorry for themselves and say things offend them when the only people that should've possibly been offended by it are their anscestors from like 50-200 years ago.

very much agreed. i also adore the hypocrisy of over-sensitive people who attacks one statement so vehemently but ignores others, especially on a public forum. for example in our society, the word "*****" is apparantly acceptable slang to some, offensive to others whereas no bats an eye or cries wolf when "peckerwood, whitey, honkey" or "cracker" are used against people who are white in origin. I guarantee you that calling a person of the Jewish faith a "jew" would elicit quite a difference response than calling a person of the Christian faith a "goy", even though they are both potentially and interpretably derogatory terms. If I were to be called a "kraut" or a "hun" and complain about it, it would likely not carry the same weight as other so-called slurs. plain and simply put, hypocrisy

In my opinion, there is a difference between legitimate racism and implied racism - i.e. racism that is artificially created to gain attention. Predominantly black schools such as "George Washington Junior High" who change their names and limit the teachings of thier names because the founding fathers were slave owners.

So what grade are you in?

ah but this thread is supposed to be about paint. I just got my bumpers back, painted and fresh, after a nasty shop incident. I went round and round with the shop owner as to blame for weeks and documented it in another thread. the shop denied doing to my car what I and others feel was done to it, and now when I show up to the shop, the workers stop every bit of activity and watch me, waiting for me to leave. without going into detail, its as though they don't want me to watch them work and do to other cars what they "didn't do".

Shut up. That s*** wouldn't fly on any other forum I'm on and I find it quite disrespectful. If anyone on this forum said the "n-word" in the same manner that you used this people would be jumping all over his back and they'd probably get banned.

actually someone did say nigger (i think matty did), i think they called someone a nigger (maybe linux or something), and they DID get banned. yet someone can say jewed and thats ok?

i dont think either is ok really. we have the 1st amendment but we also have people not acting like bigots as well. its really easy to hide behind the first amendment when you act like a ******* uneducated moron.

frankly i dont get pissed that someone calls someone a name but i think it shows your stupidity. also i think that if one person gets banned for one remark like that, the other should get a similar punishment.

i think that if name calling bothers you thats a damn shame...but i just wanted to point out the lack of people skills associated with such a statement.

next time you want some attention start a thread that says: "sweetlou69 needs attention at the expense of offending others"

just a suggestion

for instance if were to go out and get a spray can of 24a and spend Saturday painting my mirrors and I wanted to share some pics and do a write up. I wouldn't write
"Painted my side mirrors and sweetlou69 has no sense of decorum"

though it may be true in one respect, it really has nothing to do with painting my mirrors.

Just like jews have nothing to do with a guy painting your bumpers the wrong color.
