03.5 MidnightBlue p5
OK I am going back to to Az from WA (which should be a fun road trip btw) in about 2-2.5 weeks. At that time I have a bunch of mods waiting for me to install and I am also planning a bunch of do-it-yourself opainting mods.

I am not worried about the primer, gloss and black cans that I need to buy for the headlights and other stuff since they are common, but I would like input from eevryone who has bought paint to match the color of their car what the best place/price is?

I have the midnioght blue 03.5 so the code is the 22A, but I dont feel like spending 15bux a can if at all possible, I want to do the uper grill bar to make it look like the sport20, i wanna do the valve cover and calipers but those dont have to exactly match the blue, and I was almost thinking of when doing the JDM headlights I wasnt going to use black but either body color or a dark blue to look like it. Not sure though I still like black.

What do you guys think?

Also I was thinkin of doing the candy paint on the calipers and valve cover(& other engine parts) so I might only need a little factory coded paint for the upper grill and possibly headlight housing.

Also any ingo on the gunmetal colored paint in case I want to darken the actual outside lens of the headlights.

candy paint on calipers? you need a high temp paint for the calipers. i dont think candy will work. plus real candies are a pain i the ass to spray you need a base coat and then you need to mix the candy with a catalyst and then you need to clear them. thats alot of work for calipers. if you are going to use a spray can you can use a high temp base coat and then the color you want they should last for a little while.

well, i may have to go through paintscratch or another place i find online for the body colored paint....ill see what I can find, and if those are gonna be the standard costs then I will just get as close as I can with a hi temp paint.

And yes I plan on primer-paint-clear coat so if I do all three of those do all three need to be hi temp or just some of them?

Thx guys and I will post if I find a cheaper place to get the coded paint.

ok another question, i found duplicolor High performance wheel coating for 5.99 per 12oz can, and it comes in graphite color, so I wanted to know if this would work for making my wheels look more like a gunmetal finish and if it really is as heat resistant as it says it is. I mean it says it is track tested for chipping and heat and all that but I have heard even higher temp paint tends to melt on the inside of the wheel where the rotor is nearest.

I was also looking at the duplicolor mirage paint but it isnt hi-temp so there isnt much I could use it on.

Also I found a site at paintworldinc.com that has the 22a color coded paint for 15.85 per 12oz can with the clear cloat at 5.45/can.

How much can I do with a 12oz can?
