Paint ideas

Since I have my doubt that Mazda is going to help me with my paint situation, I had a friend photoshop the two color options I am thinking about for a custom paint job.

Option 1.

Option 2.

Please vote and tell me your opinions of these colors.

I did not vote because I like both. Option #1 looks like the old Mazda-3 winning blue color and option #2 looks like that CX-7 color (lazer blue?). I loved that winning blue and wished they had continued that, but the lazer also looks sweet. I would probably get the first option though. Good job with the photoshops, looks nice!

Just a suggestion, but why not get some more useful life out of the stock paint and if it starts to rust and/or look really horrible, then paint it? Aftermarket paint jobs never really seem to hold up as well as stock anyway. Are you getting everything painted (ie. firewall, taking all panels off, etc.)?

I like option one. I really wish Mazda had the electrish blue color here in America like they do in Australia. It kinda pisses me off that we got not very cool colors in the first 2 years of the run(07 and 08, 08.5 is a different story)

Take 1, looks great. IMO option #2 looks too much like a cross between Cosmic Blue and Metro Gray to me.... but again, I am slightly color blind

Do you know the paint code for laserblue mica? I rather use a Mazda color if possible instead of a Mitsubishi color.

I would go with the first color. I agree with lestat that the last one is a mix of blue and grey. Option 1 stands out the most!

both very nice colors, option 2 would look black at night and i always thought paint jobs that look diff at night were nice

I like the dark colors...plus that color will play tricks in different weather and in different light

its a weird blue...dunno man just really don't like it! (rlaugh)

i love paint threads. here is a link to an 18 page paint code page from zilvia.net its pretty complete. most pictures have paint codes and there are tons of different colors in there. if your going to paint your car this is one place you should look.

i like yellow too. you could go with the 3rd gen rx7 pearl yellow. that color is awesome.
