2008 Mazdaspeed 3
I bought this thing like, a year ago and finally got enough funds to add an amp. Well... I get everything torn apart and it's not even close. My plugs are smaller and more compact. I have a 2008 Mazdaspeed 3 with the Bose... said it'd work with the Bose. Well, it will not. Suggestions? Someone has already been in there and there's 4 leads off 4 wires going into the amp. I'd prefer not going that route. I wanted to use the OEM amp interface. Please help? (gah)

It's possible you either were sent the wrong item, or the HU connector chnged mid-year. I used the AOEM-MAZ2 on my '08.5 w/ Bose just fine.

They flat out don't make one for my year... apparently. There's a superseded one that looks like it was correct, but then the plug-in changed when the 'new' one came out. I guess I need to know what wires to tap off the stock amp now. I would like to do this tonight. Amp is already in... just waiting to get that signal off the stock Bose amp.

I'm sure it did. But either they changed the plug or my plug is different. Because it's not even close. In fact... it's not. The photos I've seen are the same as mine. I have 1 long, flat plug. Not two. The older PAC had two. And that's since been discontinued.

Look in the How-To section. I'm sure someone has the wiring diagram. The easiest place to tap the signals is the pre-amp harness underneath the driver seat. I say "easiest" because if you're like me with a FUBAR back, you'll look like Quasimodo after splicing wires in a hunched position.

I bought a speaker level input harness for the Alpine I bought. Tap the 2 wires off the white plug, which I still don't know which is left and right. Tap the solid blue on the blue plug. :) Should be done.

that blows, sorry.

what they sent looks like a LOC to me

have you tried what they sent you on the harness going to the amp??
female on the car, male pins on the bose amp

you can do it yourself by following the "underseat" wiring diagram, tough search, but its in here somewhere

Were you trying to connect it under the seat? I wasn't able to, because the plugs were a different size, but it fit great behind the radio. Try that before you give up.

Oh wow. I didn't think to ask if he was installing it properly. I just assume everyone knows it connects to the back of the HU, not at the amp.

I eventually did. Butchered 1 RCA into the right channel on my amp. As it is a MONO amp. Not ideal, but it works. Eventually, I may put in a low output converter. Because the gain is WAY down. But for now.
