'02 P5
Hey all, what's up.
Anyone know of a Manf. that makes a Throttle Body Spacer that fits a '02 P5?
Thanks
:)

What are you talking about. I know there is some sort of gasket that you replace that goes between the intake manifold and the head that keeps the runners and the TB cooler. Is that what you are looking for?

He is talking about the adapter that adds a vortex effect to the intake charge to help increase air/fuel mixture combustion.

And no don't know of any for the P5.

Yes..Outlaw Engineering make a throttle body spacer. I have the Throttle body and intake manifold spacer. Its approx 6mm thick, machined..not sure the material but it reduces heat soak drastically.
If I remember correctly I paid $95 usd for the kit that contained an intake spacer, TB spacer and longer bolts for the Int.Man.
Excellent Mod...well worth the money. You can actually touch the Intake Manifold after a long drive now without burning your hand.

The p5's TB is designed to add vortex, but only during cold starts. It's the infamous "engine rattle when cold." The engine rattle is actually turbulence being intentionally generated to increase A/F mix to lower emissions before the main cat has a chance to heat up. It causes some feathering of the TB butterfly that makes the rattle.

How difficult of a mod was this? How much BS are they blowing on their website about how great it is? How good is it actually?

Hard to say...I think I noticed a difference but that's just me. I can tell you that the int. Man. is much cooler...cooler air is always good. Install was a bit of a b**** but its a good opp. to flow match the Int. man and head with the spacer.
I'll take any HP I can get with this slug and $100 is the cheapest mod I've done yet.

actually the VTCS plates closest to the head port is what is causing the rattling:)

Thanx

Thanx all for the info...i will look into Outlaw engineering for that.
yeah, I have a friend that owns a jeep and he says that is the best mod. he has done yet....which inclucdes cold air intake, exhaust...etc. So it's supposed to be a good bang for your buck.
I will check it out.

Peace.
