stupid mazda........... discontinuing perfection

Seems like it's a Mazda tradition to discontinue the model everytime they produce a nice car.

Look at these P5 predecessors (pics)that was never released in North America.
Mazda should have sell this car over here.
I don't care if they sell that old model as a new 2004 model here.

I still like the old FC Rx-7. too

The way she handles, as well as the massive flow of compliments, make up for lack of HP. I did not buy my P5 for HP...i bought my P5 based on looks, color, and handling.
Tis a beautiful piece of machinery...and she brings me great pleasure with every day.

It's hard to find a car these days that blend good looking, handling, cargo/passenger room, and a low price tag together.

tonkabui is right on the money about the Lexus influence. How can Mazda change such a good thing? Just put the new engine inthe current P5 body, add titanium to the color choices and we will be in business.

Not the whole team. Just a 27 year old designer, who also happened to be the youngest car designer in Japan who has a lot of his design being put into production.
I just couldn't remember his name.

I'm glad I picked this car. It was exactly what I wanted in a car. It's 1 1/2 years old and there are still times when I just want to drive it for no reason.
I look forward to the end of the work day not to go home, but because I get to drive my P5

I'm just obsessed with it and people think I'm very weird when they see my enfatuation with it - they can f*** themselves, I ain't changing

i can keep up with my friends wrx cruising in 40 at 2nd gear, when we both punch it were even til he starts pulling suprisingly slowly away

What's wrong with your friend's WRX? A healthy one will smoke us in our P5's. 0-20, 0-40, 0-60, It will smoke us at all speeds. The only place where we will hold our own and win, if driven correctly, is in the slalom.

I admit even though it has some low HP, it actually drives nice, has enough acceleration and what not. However, they've had to discontinue the production because, even though we haven't had this vehicle here long, it has been out in the world for a godd five years now. It's shelf life has been reached.

yeah some people absolutely love the P5's looks. im more about the price and functionality and the good looks are a prerequisite. the performance... well it can have tons of performance if you have the time and money.

I gotta agree with all the things being said here even to this day I can honestly say, "I love my freakin car!!!"... and every time I like just that little bit less and heaven forbid contemplate trading it off I just go and drive my gf's crapalier for a little while and my faith is completely restored.

I've gotten so many compliments on my car, not to mention the people that ride in it and can't believe its only 130hp 4-banger... maybe its a lot of peoples ineptitude about vehicle, but a lot of people have asked me, "Is this a 6 cylinder???" ... well no no its not my friend but nice try... "But man it goes"

My friends and family think I'm crazy how much I love to drive my car, until I let them drive it..... then it all comes out "Man now I know why you like it sooooo much..." I gotta get one!!!!

yep, that's my car. that there is the racing beat exhaust. full cat back. the tip fits perfect. the tone is perfect. it's a little heavy, but it's perfect in every other way. and it increases horsepower by 4.7whp. woo hoo. yay for racing beat.
