what about the rest of your trunk ? (freak)
LOL. If you have tried putting a golf bag in a P5, you will find that there's only ONE way that it will fit (without folding down the seats) :D

not bad, looks like ya have a lot of work left to do though...are you gonna glass over the entire plastic peice and blend it together or just carpet over the FG?

if u r planning on making and selling em the price seems kinda high. I had a FG box built for 2 12s with an sliding amp tray for $350shipped from WI to MD(and let me tell you that things weighed a LOT).

Something like that I might pay $175+ shipping for.

if i had molds and stuff set up to make them quickly i could do it cheaper ...
but i dont ...

and im going to form it out a bit more and then cover it ... im going to make one that use's the whole pannel sometime soon ...but not this one

id be in for a 175 range.

24.00 resin
15.00 fiberglass
3.00 fleece
5.00 MDF
4.00 bondo
22.00 covering
2.00 spray glue
5.00 wiring + plug
4.00 brush's
2.00 bucket
2.00 liquid nails
15.00 sand paper
5.00 gloves + resperator
7.00 tape
-------------------------
115.00 rough total of materials to make 1 box (yes there is some left over but not enough for another full box ...)

now to make a box start to finish takes me about 4 days ... with drying and curing time ...

so if i sold this for 175.00 and take out the cost im making 60$ for 4 days work ....

just to give ya all an idea of what i think of when i price something out ... im not trying to get rich but im not going broke either...

honestly though, this is not one of those things that is exclusively made by a forum member like the light up door sills or the JoeP fcd...

anyone could go to a local stereo shop and have something like that made for under $200, so except for locals there prolly wont be much interest in your product especially onsidering the impending shipping costs...

Wow, I guess everyone's just a bunch of cheap asses.

I can't believe this. Honestly. he shouldn't have to defend himself. he's not making 100% markup here, he's selling his labor at very next to nothing simply for the sake of honinghis technique, and trying to help some forum members out, and all he gets is lowballed.

Don't listen to them, dude, we all know that these are worthit. Some people just don't understand, and those are the ppl who are destined to buy crappy pre-built cheap boxes and call it good.

Guys> honestly, These things are NOT just easy to crankout. Unfortunately they're not super afforadble to you, but to someone they are (and trust me it IS a good deal, TRY to get a local shop to do glasswork for less)

thanks man ... honestly i figure if someone wants to buy one great .... if not no biggie either ... im not trying to pay my bills off this or anything ya know ...

and to anyone else:
if you want a cheap box let me know i can make you one without any of the finish work ... that would bring cost down alot and let someone finish it the way they want ...

yur right, he's not asking 100%markup...its actually more like 200%!

I havent tried to get a local shop to do glasswork, but I did get one from Wisconsin to do it for me, and as I said it only cost $350 for a custom built FG box for 2 12s with a sliding amp tray and a capacitor molded into it. I was only lucky because a guy I know at the shop had the same car as me, so they used his to mold it.once you factor in the obvious shipping costs, I probably paid somewhere around $250 for a very nice box that took 2 guys a week and a half to build ;)
