P5 gas guage SUCKS

So that light is the same with the MSP as well..2.1gallons?? I ran into that problem Sunday. The light came on, and I was about 10 or 12 miles from the gas station I normally use...I was thinking about seeing if I could make it, after all, I have AAA, so if it died, oh well, they'd bring me gas...But then I started thinking about the turbo, and I caved. Iwent to the next station and paid about 25 cents/gallon more than normal. I figured better to be safe than sorry. I'm glad to hear that I have that much of a warning now

i found a problem with your 2.1 gallon theory, i put 2 gallons in from a gas can that was full and the light was still on

I read somewhere that gas will expand when hot. They say its better to get gas in the mornings during the summer before the sun has had a chance to expand the gas, therefore you get more gas when it expands in your tank. I have no idea if this theory is right, or even how much it expands, so go figure.

Dunno just know I rarely fill up 11 gallons and my light is ALWAYS on when I fill up. Normally drive about 30 more miles with it on and no problem.

hehe and no haven't tried to run out of gas. Though did once in my high school car. About 2 feet from the pump all cause the pump was on a hill and it moved my few drops to the corner of the tank. lol

The best I've got after the light came on was 59 miles. I filled her up with 14.1 gallons once I got to the gas station.

i actually think this is true but at the same time, the gas is more prone to turning to vapor inside the tank from the heat. when i left work it was ALOT cooler than the afternoon, maybe thats where the "extra gas" came from. al the vapors in the tank re condensed.

Just get it in your brain that you must fill up at a quarter tank and you'll never have to worry. Plus that way if you have to outrun a cop you'll have plenty of reserve and won't get caught.
