P5 Ecu Swap With Mp3

A Protege5 engine with a Protege5 ECU and a MP3 engine with a Protege5 ECU are pretty much identical. The VTCS is irrelevant for power output. So, that dyno graph is a good comparison of what happens to the power output when you change the ECU and the ECU only - ie, not much. My point was not that the MP3 would make more power with the P5 ECU, but that the two ECUs did not generate radically different power outputs on the 2.0 FS engine.

To get 10 hp out of the P5, you will have to do more work than simply putting in the ECU from an MP3.

guyz.. remember that MP3 ecu needs supreme fuel for best performace... if you use supreme fuel in P5 ecu... u still get the punch.. i've tested and it's ture.... i've been using reg. for the last 2 months... and welll it's not as punch as i was using supreme... not a whole lot.. but i could feel it...

Both those dyno runs were on the same tank of premium fuel. 91 octane.
