P0300 CEL, mazda tried to void warranty

well i've had this problem for a week.. as soon as the CEL came on, i brought my car to a mazda dealer with cai and my shifter... the service manager calls me and he says he has bad news, my warranty's been voided because of the cpe cai, its messing with the emissions. P0300 came up and they blamed it on my cai..i got pissed and started fighting the guy, and i kept telling him that by law he needs to prove that crap..he got scared and finally gave me my car and he told me to put the stock air box back..

i went to autozone to get it checked for free, figures the service guy wasn't lying, i have a random misfire P0300.. any idea how to get around this guys? i still have my warranty
 
pull the plugs, packs, and wires.

its possible for a bad cat to cause a random misfire however, its highly unlikely.

"Random misfire"? How the hell does a CAI cause that? Put the stock box on, clear the code, and see if it comes back. If (when) it does, bring it to the dealership and make them fix it.

Maybe you need to do the "spring mod".
 
YOur dealer is a ******* moron. A CAI will not cause a Random misfire. Might be a bad plug or something causing this issue. I am so sick of these stupid ass dealers.
 
yea i started yelling at him because he tried pinning it on my cai.. whatta dick. i'm gonna put my air box back in and see what happens.. if it doesn't fix the problem, i'll bring it to the dealer

If it does fix the problem, you are going to have a lot of very surprised forum members.
 
I had that code too and it was cause two of my injectors were bad. trust me it aint going to go away when you put the stock airbox on.
