OverDrive O/D

Hi, im new here.

I have a Mazda Protege LX 2002 I bought it about 2-3 years ago in super good shape. Thankfully, its still in good shape. But I just realised that my O/D has no effect when I press it now. It used to work fine but now, no effect, I can't even see the O/D light on the dashboard...
I was wondering if any of you guys had a clue about what it could be and how much it could cost me.

There's another thread in the P5 section about this exact topic. If it's not doing anything when you press that button it's stuck on "engaged" which is better than not being engaged, so don't worry about it.
