Ordered the Cobb SRI yesterday...

One weld on mine broke so I disconnected it from the filter but left the bracket on. This allows the intake to rock back with the engine but still rest on the bracket under normal driving conditions. This has happened to many people but mine only broke when I started going to the drag strip. If you launch your car hard often enough it will fail, if you just do rolls, you will be ok.

Hotsnactch, Good luck with only adding those two mods, said the same myself many dollars ago. If you like this car on 15 psi then get an AP and run 19 psi.

Maybe the stiffer motor mount will keep the engine from moving too much, thus reducing the stress on the weld that breaks?? Maybe just some wishful thinking...

I'm going to shoot an e-mail to COBB about the whole issue it and see what they say.

My buddy suggested I fab a bracket that goes down to the stock airbox groummeted hole, and just put a bolt through it. Might look pretty ghetto but I think it'll work pretty decent.

This is by far a better solution, and in fact is what I am working on for mine. The tabs on the battery tray are a joke......

So just had the SRI installed. My buddy bent the mounting bracket a touch to get it to fit better. The whole thing seems pretty snug, i'm not worried about the weld failing.

I'm loving the swooshing/sucking sound that this intake makes. Overall, the engine just feels better and pulls harder when I'm on boost.

Next up is the SU motor mount, by they seem to be on back order at the moment.
