Orange Mazda engine warning light

Hello, I own a 2019 Mazda CX-5 2.2 184 ADW automatic. My engine warning light has unfortunately come on.

There's no loss of power.

My battery is slightly low (that might be related).

I have a friend with a diagnostic tool.

The error code displayed is "P2426 Particulate Matter Sensor Circuit."

I'm looking for any clues, or if anyone has had this problem and if so, how did they resolve it?

Start with the battery. Many issues are caused by a low, dead or dying battery. The code refers to a low voltage signal, but that could be because of the battery. So get that sorted out first, reset the code and see what happens.

The Mazda P24C6 code signifies a fault in the Particulate Matter (PM) Sensor Temperature Circuit, often due to water condensation or a failing sensor, common in diesel models like the CX-5 2.2L SKYACTIV-D, triggering the check engine light and sometimes an "Engine Oil Level High" message. Diagnosis involves checking sensor wiring, but usually requires replacing the PM sensor and potentially reprogramming the control unit, as per Mazda service bulletins.

The PM temperature sensor gets moisture on it and sends an out of range error sometimes on startup. The 2nd time in a row will trip the CEL.

Choices are either replace the sensor ($1500ish) or get FORscan to reset the code periodically as needed.

I went to Mazda and they told me it was the soot sensor... I saw the bill and thought I'd try to figure it out myself first. So I'm asking for your help. Can you tell me where this sensor is located? What it looks like, and if it's possible to clean it before replacing it, or if there are any other steps I can take beforehand? And if you have any links to the part? Sorry to ask too many questions, but I need the Mazda community...

I know you said you are in France but as a reference the part kit needed for the repair is $416 here in USA ...

Then you will likely need to have a Mazda dealer mate the new sensor to the control module with the Mazda service computer.

Is it easily accessible and removable? I'm a bit of a handyman, I'll try to find the part and change it myself. And once it's changed, do you think I should still have it checked with a Mazda computer? I have a friend with a diagnostic tool, that should do the trick, right?

Hi, miałem ten sam problem, skończyło się na serwisie mazdy. część jest ciężko dostępna bo silników diesla mało, znalazłem zamiennik na eBayu wszystko takie same ale cena przez poł zmieniłem ale mazda zaczęła szaleć i zaczęły występować wszystkie błędy jakie są możliwe. Wiec nie polecam. czujnik znajduje się na rurze wydechowej pod skosem 45stopni ,polecam wymianę i programowanie na serwisie mazdy .

Ne ma sensu czyszczenie i rozbieranie- myślę ze problem leży w tej kostce/module elektronicznym bo podobno one się psują.

z tego co czytałem to psuja się sondy od adblue/mocznika lub moduły od wilgoci .
