opinions on exhaust

long story short im broke and sick of not having an exhaust...
what to do?
maybe resonator delete or maybe muffler delete? or both?

i have a 2007 mazda 3 i 2.0!
let me know what you think!

i mean i will have an after market exhaust at one point and i do all my shopping through pg but im broke right now and i am sick of having a silent car lol, i have a guy that said he will straight pipe it for real cheap but i think that would be over kill ya know?

Have an exhaust shop weld you up an axle-back for cheap to hold you over?

well decided to be a super cheap ass like usual, bought some washers un bolted the cat and spaced the exhaust.....sounds freaking amazing, little tooo loud.
but it was sexy until i got pulled over FML

haha i cant believe it was that loud.. i have F2 header, and Speed3 catback. I used to have a racepipe (SUPER LOUD.. trust me) and never got pulled over.. now i have 3 resonators and a muffler and its still loud lol

how do you like your 'F2 header?

but yeah had it completely open not washer before and it was even louder so the gap make it less obnoxious but i still felt like my head was gonna explode!
it was awesome

F2 header.. dont get me started on it hahaha... its a POS.. but hey.. i made it work.
fitment is good, only problem i had was with flanges warping, since they are not SS... i got new ones, and new flex pipe made, also additional bung for wideband made.

thanks man....not really in the market yet (considering i spent 50 cents on my exhaust "system") but ive only heard bad things about F2 wtf?

haha well i just got back from the hard ware store...gonna put thinner washers in and see if that does anything, wish me luck.

what exactly are you doing to your exhaust ? ive never heard about washers and exhaust haha lol. when yo u space the exhaust, you make an exhaust leak

yeah pretty much...i am so close to stock right now that im not looking for a performance gain, i just miss my old car and its exhaust....lol i just feel like im driving a hybrid with factory exhaust.


i know its stupid but its just for the personal satisfaction of hearing it. but opening it up at high RPMs with it open like it is does make some diffrence

and i like having a loud car, but sometimes i just wish it was stock again lol
so many noises and rattle created by the exhaust and the motor mounts...it feels good to drive a silent, smooth car once in a while so be happy with what you got

just take a resonator out, and/or put a high flow cat in instead of your reg cat

by creating a exhaust leak, you are creating loss of backpressure.. not good.
best way to go is to get rid of the resonator, or muffler.

im so broke haha, i would like a "real" exhaust but im such a cheap ass!


although this thread started as suggestion toward a resonator delete or something...
and has now come back to being cheap.

best exhaust for mazda 3 is MAZDASPEED3 OEM exhaust, you can pick one up for like 150, and get it put on the car for another 50 bucks.. and you have beautiful deep exhaust...
