Open Differential on MSP?

hey, so i my lsd snapped on my msp and i heard i could drop in an open differential from normal proteges, i want to know if there is any downsides to doing this? my car is completely stock, i plan on keeping it this way, and i dont race it or anything, on the freeway i might downshift from time to time to pass slow cars but thats about it. will this be a good alternative? i dont have much money and i need my car running asap, this is my daily driver

You can run an open diff no problem. You probably wont notice a difference. If mine snaps I'll be rocking an open diff. Many members have done it.

hey so you guys are sure that there wont be any problems with the open diff right? my iddiotic mechanic was scaring me telling me that he will be done with my car tomorrow but he isnt sure if the little gear "teeth" idk what the term is , but that they wont work well with the msp transmission teeth or whatever so idk what hes talking about but i trust you guys and hope my car gets fixed soon

i have a open diff trans in my msp...as well as another msp owner around here there is no problem with it at all
