For me being nonverbal will be intresting with the video aspect I am by no means an editor.

Unboxing video

First impressions...Really nicely packaged.

Everything well protected.

I will add some updates as we go along. I have a road trip in a couple days so between getting ready for that and work I hope to get this installed and get some footage of driving up through Banff.

Driving thru the cut, for those of you that watch tv show highway thru hell this is just past the smasher. Yes there was some spun out trucks.
Unfortunately I learned the hard way after 4 hrs it loops on the SD card I have 128g at highest quality settings. (I also learned u need to Format it and u can record closer to 8hrs) for those like me that drive alot
I would recomend getting a 256g for those longer drives

Its surprising the audio quaility the camera is able to grab without any distortion. The vehicles passing in the cab you can't really hear but then when you watch it back later its alot louder then I rember it being when driving.

This is without any editing of any sort.
4k on forward facing 2k on rear facing.

This stretch of road is fairly bumpy with the small chunks of ice and the camera does a really good job of negating those little divots.

Finally had a moment to sit down and type

This is not a paid review or anything. Redtiger offered an opportunity to review one of their Dashcams and I accepted.

The Redtiger ViewClear 70 is a strong contender in the dual-channel dashcam market, by pairing a high-resolution front camera with an impressive rear-camera experience, for low-light conditions.
While it has a few minor drawbacks, its video quality, responsive user interface, and smart connectivity make it a reasonable choice for drivers prioritizing clear, reliable footage.

Key Features from this users perspective
The ViewClear 70 is packed with premium specifications:
* Resolution: 4K front camera, 2.5K rear camera.
* Night Vision: Hyper Night Clarity and Dual HDR for superior image quality in varying light. The rear camera utilizes an OmniVision Wondrix OS04J10 sensor with NiteGuard Tech (Noctura) for enhanced low-light performance in parking mode. The front camera uses the Sony STARVIS 2 IMX678 sensor.
* Connectivity: Ultra-fast Wi-Fi 6 (5.8GHz) for quick clip transfer.
* Display & Control: 3-inch touchscreen display with an incredibly smooth and responsive UI.
* Installation Bonus: Includes a 128GB SD card and a trim tool in the box.

Performance and Usability
Video Quality
The daytime video quality is really good for both cameras, with the 4K front footage being crystal clear and allowing for easy license plate identification, even from a distance. The 2.5K rear camera also performs very well, although poor placement on my part makes it look a bit strange when viewing.
Importantly, the camera does an excellent job of negating small bumps and divots from rough roads, providing stable, usable footage even over chunks of ice or moderately bumpy stretches. Footage is saved without any editing, at the full 4K/2K resolution.

Where the VC 70 truly shines is its low-light performance, especially from the rear. It provides a noticeable improvement over other models of dashcams I have tried, with better detail and color accuracy at night, making license plates readable in some situations where glare might typically obscure them.

The NiteGuard technology for Parking Mode is a major highlight, promising even better low-light quality when parked (which requires the separate hardwire kit) which Red tiger kindly provided.

Audio Quality: Surprisingly Detailed
The audio quality is surprisingly good, capturing sound without distortion. While ambient vehicle noise might seem subdued while driving, upon playback, the recorded audio is often much louder and clearer than expected.

Memory and Storage Management
A key discovery for high-mileage drivers is that the included 128GB SD card allows for only about 4 hours of recording at the highest quality settings before it starts looping and overwriting old footage. However, formatting the SD card can extend this recording time closer to 8 hours. For users who drive long stretches regularly and need more buffer time, upgrading to a 256GB SD card is highly recommended.

Hardware and Design
The dashcam unit feels solid. A standout feature is the independently adjustable lens on the front camera, which can tilt and rotate. This offers great flexibility, especially in vehicles with steeply angled or aero-themed windshields, a significant advantage over competitors.
The 3-inch touchscreen responsive, on par with modern smartphones, making menu navigation very intuitive and easy to use.

Installation and Power
Installation is standard and straightforward. The inclusion of a hardwire kit option is a must for utilizing the 24-hour Parking Mode, as using the 12V socket will not engage the full parking features and can possibly drain the car battery. All connections on the camera itself are conveniently USB-C.

App and Data Transfer
The dedicated Redtiger Cam app allows for simplish OTA firmware updates and clip transfer via Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi 6 standard delivers very fast download speeds (up to 30MB/s), though the current limit of 10 clips per transfer makes it feel like a clunky inconvenience for users downloading large amounts of footage at once.

Areas for Improvement
While the VC 70 is a premium device, in comparison to what I have used in the past, a few minor adjustments would make it nearly perfect:
* Clip Saving Shortcut: A single-press or dedicated physical button would be preferred for immediate clip locking.
* Information Overlay Customization: The ability to add customizable information, such as a user name or watermark
* Bulk Clip Download: Increasing the 10-clip limit for simultaneous download via the app would improve workflow for users needing to pull multiple files.

Final Verdict
The Redtiger ViewClear 70 is an excellent, high-quality dashcam that justifies its position in the market with superior 4K/2.5K clarity and best-in-class rear camera low-light performance thanks to its OmniVision sensor and NiteGuard tech. The responsive touchscreen, fast Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, and surprisingly clear audio offer a premium user experience.
For drivers looking for a reliable eyewitness with exceptional day and night video performance, good video stabilization on rough roads, and the option for extended parking surveillance (with the hardwire kit), the ViewClear 70 is highly recommended. Just be sure to format your SD card after installation and consider a 256GB card for long-haul driving.

So in a nutshell the pros and cons.

Category
👍 Pros
👎 Cons
Video Quality* Exceptional 4K/2.5K resolution (Front/Rear) provides readable license plates during the day.* Nighttime license plate reading can be difficult due to glare from headlights.
Low-Light Performance* Superior rear camera low-light video due to the OmniVision sensor and NiteGuard (Noctura) technology.* NiteGuard Parking Mode requires the separate hardwire kit to function fully.
Usability & Interface* Responsive 3" touchscreen with a smooth, intuitive UI.* Inconvenient clip-saving process: Requires waking the screen before pressing the save/lock button.
Hardware & Design* Independently adjustable front lens offers flexible mounting angles for various windshield types.* Unit size is standard; not as discrete as other camera types.
Connectivity* Ultra-fast Wi-Fi 6 (5.8GHz) ensures quick transfer of clips to a mobile device.* Clip download limit of 10 files at a time via the app is restrictive.
Audio* Surprisingly clear audio quality with minimal distortion, often sounding louder on playback than when driving.* Limited control or modification options for the video's information overlay (e.g., Cannot Customize).
Storage & Stability* Footage is saved immediately, with good video stabilization that negates minor road bumps and divots.* Included 128GB SD card only provides 4 hours of recording at max quality (requires formatting to reach 8 hours); a 256GB card is recommended for long drives.
Installation* Standard installation, with all connections being
USB-C.
* Parking Mode requires using the hardwire kit; the 12V socket adapter will drain the battery with continuous recording
