Not sure where is the best place to post this, but on the interior 2nd row slide mechanism there is clear strips of tape on the rails that allow the 2nd row to slide. Are these suppose to be there or removed at delivery? I have had our CX-9 since March and they have always been there, but now starting to come off. Not sure if they are meant to ease the sliding of the second row or intended to be removed.

No strips of tape here. The ease of sliding is taken care of by the grease inside the rail system. There should be nothing greasy sticking out.

Its just a protective tape, remove it & enjoy!

Make sure you vaccumm the rails periodically. Less than 3 weeks of ownership & I already have some popcorn, Dorito crumbs that made its way into the rails. Better yet, don't let your second & third row passengers eat in the car! :)

Thanks, I figured it was protective tape, but it really wasn't protecting anything? I hoped that cheap tape didn't serve a purpose.
