Omg Head Unit!

How long have you people been working on these receivers in our car's?

I've had mine about 2 month's (just now had time to research) and I have already found out that the only thing that is BOSE in our car's is the speakers & speaker system set up and the amplifier.

I am now trying to find out what mazda put in our car's for a receiver.

how'd you find out bose didn't make it?

I called them! I also had them send me the pin out connectiion diagram for our/there Amp.

But of cousre Mazda.. will not call me back nor my service manager @ Nelson Mazda with the info yet. He is the one that gave me a number to call Bose, BUT... that number was not Bose. It was Panasonic so... does this mean we have Panasonics in our cars?

Hmmm, I don't know yet. I guess I'll just have to call that number back and ask them!

Could be Panasonic or a few others. It doesnt really matter as its built to a specification. Same goes for most all factory car head units.

Bose really doesnt make the head units, if they do anything its supply some type of processing chip for it. In Mazda's case they have been doing just the amplifiers. I think they are just buying the speakers from someone else as well.

Its a chain of vendors to be sure. My question is, what is the point of knowing this?

Panasonic manufactures head units for most Japanese cars as well as many domestic. Are you having trouble with it? Or do you want to add some components to the Bose?
