I drive a manual in the hills of San Francisco. I'm actually better with the manual since I have a better controll - going uphill - downshifting. Going downhill - downshifting.

I actually have problems driving an auto in San Francisco since they always start to roll!!!! I leave the car in 1st when I am at the stop light on the hill. No problem what so ever.

Traffic - your right leg doestn' get as tiered as much. That's why you play with the clutch. No need to press brakes every 3 seconds.

Seriously, one of the best modded cars on this forum was Pirana, and yet I don't read s*** about his Auto, b/c he had a badass car, regardless of the tranny.

Actually one of his reason why he got rid of the car was cause of the auto. It was slipping and it was either he would replace the tranny or get a different car....

good point...i can be a hater NO PROBLEM...auto sux!!!! even tho my 59 chevy truck is an auto i regret changing the tranny from the manual but have u ever tried driving with 3 on the Tree...not too easy...double clutching is a must! (wedge)

hah! traffic? save it..I lived in lower manhattan and then in brooklyn..Stick was definetly a pain in the ass then, and now that I live back up in the woods..its great..i'll stand by it.

Just traded in my loaded 03.5 AT for a very base 02 manual due to reliability issues w/the AT. Man, forgot how much I love stick! Plus I just filled it up for the first time and got just over 30 mpg...very happy!

I know many people who have said, "Once you drive a stick, you can't go back."

Having that amount of control is good; sawing through the gears is mucho fun. My Pro5 isn't a powerful car, but I still whip it death every chance I get, and an automatic wouldn't do as good of a job as my brain.

If I was driving a Ford Crown Vic, then it would be a different story.

You are aware there are a couple 1st Gen Street Illegal Neons running 600 ponies....anything is possible if you have the doe to drop....Plus it's fun to make a car people thing is slow really fast and it's more fun to make the car fast instead of buying it fast cause you bond with the car thru each mod. I traded in a auto for a autostick.....sorry but D.C. MD and VA traffic is so depressing you wanna commit suicide right there on the spot cause you don't see it till you turn that corner.....55-60 miles an hour and less than 3 miles down the road it's 3 miles an hour. I almost went stick till I thought about traffic is MAJORITY of my commute and I am on the C maintenance Schedule now(headshake
