Most people don't have any kind of reason for the recommendations that they give with their oil etc. (I'm not comenting toward linux or anybody else for the record here, just a general point outside of this thread) The reason I recommended the oils I did is because the test results that I found online by independent labs indicated them to be the best. Amsoil outperformed all the synths for wear protection, and valvoline vastly outperformed the oil based prodcuts as well.

yes, you need a heavier oil for forged pistons, they expand and contract more than cast.

LOL.. No man, linux the guy on here LinuxRacr I believe is his proper handle. Where he was saying "switch quick!" and Laser and a few others that were saying this or that oil was the best without a specific reason. Then I was pointing out that all too often people promote or bash a product without any form of empirical support. Things like "it ran better" or "the performance increased" mean pretty much absolutely nothing. Especially if not backed up with solid info and support. That's all I was saying...

And I dunno if I've ever seen linux sold anywhere either. Linux you work corners in any city?? But you can buy Linux software a lot of places Later...

Syntec is the only synthetic on your list, so i voted for that one.
I have used Valvoline Synpower, Mobil 1, and Castrol Syntec, no difference to me.

Hope no one minds me posting here while I wait for my approved vendor status to be finalized. I am an Amsoil dealer and would like to particpate in this discussion about oils and what makes them good or bad.
