A while back I was on a site that offered a hood with a scoop on it. They had several different versions of it. I think their car was a yellow P5. Please if anyone knows what i'm talking about, refer me to the site.

Thank Much!

Nonfunctional = teh gheyness.

Sorry guys, but if you're gonna spend the money get something that works. Or is it functional?

Weird the SLP didn't try to make it functional. They are one of the few companies of recent memory to make a functional ram-air system that actually put up some numbers. Oh well, like was said before teh geyness.

I'm also not a big fan of "hood pins required."

Yeah...I was actually gonna bid on that hood on Ebay.

From what I remember the hood scoop is functional. What they did was on the underside of the hood they have a duct that goes from the scoop up to where a short ram air intake would be. Not sure how functional it is...but it looks like they made a effort to make it somewhat functional. :)

just an interesting tidbit: In Ontario, it's my understanding that it's illegal to have an aftermarket hood and not have hoodpins - reasoning is that the latch does not bond as well to CF or fibreglass as it does to steel so it's easier for the hood to break loose and fly back - unless you have hoodpins. Makes good sense to me to have them!

Now that is a big difference between Canadian and U.S. lawmaking. In the 'States, if the govt. thought the hoods were unsafe without pins, the hoods would just be illegal! Of course, that would be a state law, and depending on the state it might only be inforced if you try to sell the car, so we'd just do it anyway. Of course in California, it would be illegal, but they'd only ticket you for it if you were within 100miles of a street race when a cop noticed you. :rolleyes:
