Ok so I have this friend with a 1.8T and he has a Deverter Valve that sounds Sick as Hell. Will it work on my MSP and should I get one?

Or is this a Stupid ?

Let me know. (hand) (rofl) (rofl)

Dude All I know is that it Recycles the all the air back and it sounds like a Jet when he floors it. Trust me its wicked.

Uh well the Diverter valve shouldn't make any noise when he floors it. That's just his turbo spooling up. The 1.8T's run higher boost than we do.....

Oh No its It hiss's so loud it sounds like a Jet. It scares the s*** out of Pedestrians. LOL No Seriously.

A friend of mine has the new GLI and stock you couldn't even hear the diverter valve. His turbo spools pretty loud. He has the forge diverter valve and that has very distinct sound but it doesn't hiss.

Diverter valve (DV, BOV, or BPV) should only make noise when you let off the gas when you let off the gas. Maybe i'm just not understanding you discription....

if you want to scare people just get the injen intake, the crazy turkey will scare the s*** out of them ;)

I dont have one right now, mine is still stock,Tiwing has one though. I am not getting it yet I have many other mods before that. Is the guys capable of hooking to plastic like our crappy ones? or does it just work with hard pipes?

Ok I understand but my Question is still not answered. Where can I go to get an Answer. Thanks for your help guys.

Well our stock bypass valve leaks at 10psi so if your planning on boosting over that then get the dv. Thats why I got mine im running the forge diveter valve. Unfortunately you still get the turkey sound.

don't be a prick.
they can't answer your question cause your question may be wrong.
if the sound you here is when he is accelarating then it's the turbo spooling.
if it's when he shifts or lets of throttle the it's his diverter(BOV,BPV).
if it is his BOV then you need to find out what one it is then come back and tell us what one it is and them we can answer.

basicly you can run almost any BOV if you maintain your stock BPV at the same time.
if you want to get rid of your BPV then you need a recerculating BOV or a dual piston or dual chamber BOV.

if this don't answer your question then you shoutdn't have ever asked the damn question instead you should be spending time reading old post and learning some things.

First thing First, Dude Wicked is your name. I said thank you and maybe I was asking the wrong Question. No need to be retarded. Not everyone is as knowledgable as you. Im not a Prick, I just asked the wrong F*#^@ ?.

like everyone said, the diverter valve doesn't make a sound when the car is floored. Only when the pressure from the pipes are released will the valve ever make a sound. If you want a whooosh of air sounds just get a larger bypass valve and modify to spring so the car won't surge.

A lot of the 1.8T drivers use the Turbo XS type H25 bpv, that's what I run on my MSP. No angry turkey, no second bov/bpv or anything of the sort. You can make it work with the stock pipes or hardpipes. You'll need an open air filter to really hear it.

Maybe that helps?

ha,ha, what a dick.dosen't even realize when someone is trying to help.

any way if you want one that works wellwon't stall and sounds great, then you have few options.

turbosmart dual bypass/BOV
greddy type-s
forge dual piston
HKS SSQV
turbo XS type-h
or stock

the forge is awsome cause it was made for our car and it attaches to the stock pipes.

Thanks for your help everyone. Now all I need to do is make a decision. Thanks Again. and Special Thanks to Wicked.
