Ok so normally I change my oil after every 5000km and the last time I changed it it was extremely dirty. I just checked my oil today @3000km since the last change and its really dirty again.

I've been using Mobil1 10w30 synthetic in the car. Just wondering if this is normal or is there something I'm doing wrong? lol

The balance shaft under the crank holds almost a quart of oil ... it just sits there and you can't drain it when you do an oil change so it just mixes up with the new stuff.

I overfilled my last oil change and had to drain it all back out ... was gonna re-use it but the stuff looked like it had about 3000k on it that I just used new oil again.

I over-filled a tad during my last oil change... used a full 6 quarts. What possible problems could come about from leaving it like this?

Also, is it worth doing the balance shaft delete?

How much more above the full mark is it? I can maybe see you getting more oil sucked into the intake manifold and gunk up your valves and what-not but this engine already does that a lot anyway.

You can buy some small clear hose and put it in through the dip-stick and suck it out that way but it'll drip out slowly, drop by drop.

As for the BSD, the consensus seems to be that it's worth doing (ie. removing) but no one really knows why yet. I've been struggling with whether I want to do it or not because the negative is your engine may be noisier and vibrate more.

I have noticed that..oil gets really filthy between changes...I have full syn 5w-30 and I change it every 4k miles.
